A few weeks ago I attended a blogger event at the Newcastle Hotter store, located in Eldon square (next door to Lush and opposite John Lewis). I have walked past this store so many times, but I have never actually been inside before. I hold my hands up and admit I thought that they just sold comfortable grandma type shoes (sorry). However when I heard they were holding a blogger event I decided to go along, as I had heard people mention that Hotter do actually sell fashionable shoes.
As soon as I stepped foot in the shop I was amazed at just how lovely the store was, it was spacious and modern looking and very cosy with very comfortable chairs that were perfect for trying shoes on. You could tell the store had been designed with customers comfort in mind. The staff were all extremely friendly and lovely and knew all of the range of shoes well and genuinely seemed to love the brand. We had the shop to ourselves and we were told to try any shoes we liked on to find our perfect pair. I honestly thought I would never find a pair of shoes that I would love, yes there was some more sensible plain style of shoes but actually there was a lot of really stylish and pretty ones too! From summer wedges, to metallic heels and floral flats there really was a shoe for everyone.
Being a mum to two toddlers I am always on the go chasing them around so I live in flats these days. I don't think I can even walk in heels any more, it has been that long since I walked in them and have a dodgy hip since having my little two. Even though I might sound old I am actually only 32 so I still want to look a teeny tiny bit stylish. I spied a lovely plain black pair of Papillion ballet pumps that I liked and Oh my they were the most comfortable shoes that I have ever tried on!
However I think the sales assistant could tell they were not the perfect shoes for me so she suggested I try some wedges. I tried on the gorgeous Hattie wedges and even though I am not used to walking in heels any more I found these so easy to walk in and was tempted to get them. I was then presented with the Roxanne tan wedges and as soon as I tried them on I knew that these were the shoes for me. They were so comfortable to walk in, fitted like a dream and looked really nice too!
Described as being " Gorgeous cushioned wedges, with its fabulous gold flecked wedge and buckle. Roxanne is just the thing for parties and weddings. Deep cushioning and hidden stretch detail make this lovely leather wedge so comfy to wear. A contrast trim and wide moulded strap keep everything on-trend".
I have had these wedges for a few weeks now and I have worn them dressed up for a rare date night and dressed down for day time and they look great, they are perfect for summer. They are super comfy too, I wore them to a christening at the weekend and was on my feet chasing my toddlers and doing a lot of walking and I could run around in them with ease and did not have sore feet at all. This is thanks to the hidden comfort features that all Hotter shoes have built into them.
If you have not checked out Hotter shoes then you really should do, they are a great British brand with over 80 UK stores. I have been telling everyone I know to check them out, as they are just so comfortable. I love mine and I am so glad that the lovely Hotter staff found my perfect shoes for me. I totally am now a Hotter convert and will most defiantly be returning to buy more shoes, I already have my eye on those flats and some more summer wedges. Oh and one of the very pretty bags they stock too (I hope my other half is not reading this or he will hide the bank card).
