We are now one week into the summer holiday's and if you are looking for some free day's out these holidays to keep your children entertained then I have compiled a list of 100 free places to visit this summer in the North East. While these attractions/ places/events do have free entry you will have to factor in car park fee's & petrol or bus fares - unless you live within walking distance of one of these places. Also, some of these places may have extra charges for certain things or they may change opening times or cancel events, so please do check their websites / social media accounts before travelling.

Jungle In My Pocket Playset Review

My little girl Sophia is four and she is at the age where she loves animals and really small toys to play with. So when we were recently asked if she would like to review the Jungle in my pocket Treehouse playset and blind bags I thought they sounded the perfect toys for her. Jungle in my Pocket is from the makers of Puppy and Kitty in my pocket, which my eldest used to love when she was younger.

Travel With Virgin Trains For Family Day's Out This Summer

This week schools up and down the country break up for the long awaited summer holidays. As a mum of three myself, I am so looking forward to spending extra time with my children, having fun and making memories. Obviously, the six week's holidays are long and children do get bored, so as a family we normally plan a few exciting days out. Last year we visited York several times by train which we found much more convenient and relaxing than travelling by car.

Travelling by train is exciting for children and is more relaxing for us adults too, there is no need to worry about getting lost or finding a parking space. When travelling with young children, like we do I also find it much more convenient to travel via train as they have toilets on board and refreshment trolleys - so no more constant service station stops.

Meeting Mister Maker At Mister Maker & The Shapes Live - Whitley Bay Playhouse

Yesterday we were invited to see Mister Maker live at the Whitley Bay Playhouse in North Tyneside, not far from where we live. We really like the Playhouse as it spacious and modern and located near the seafront in Whitley Bay, we reviewed the Aladdin pantomime there last year. We had a brilliant time at the Mister Maker live show and much to my children's delight we got to meet Mister Maker himself, he is so nice and friendly in real life.

Designing A Dream Pet With Petplan

My four-year-old daughter Sophia is a huge animal lover, she loves to visit farms and zoos and thinks every animal is cute, especially the smaller animals. Ever since she visited a farm at Easter and got to pet a mouse she has been desperate for a one of her own and asks every day if she can get one. As we have a pet cat, Marmalade, I don't think getting a pet mouse is a very good idea right now.

This doesn't stop Sophia dreaming about her much wanted pet mouse though, she has picked a name for her dream mouse, Minnie - obviously! And as Sophia is only four she truly believes that she can get a purple and pink mouse (her favourite colours) and that it will be her very best friend.

Clean & Fresh Laundry With New Persil Powergems

Like most Mum's laundry in my house is never-ending. I must spend hours each week sorting, washing, drying, ironing and putting away clothing, bedding and towels. As a family of five, the washing machine is on multiple times per day as I have the girl's school uniforms to wash, the other half's work uniforms, so many white washes, dark washes and coloured washes - as we have two messy pre-schoolers and a teen. I also wash towels, bedding, tea towels, football strips and swim wear. The list is never ending.

So when I was asked to try out the revolutionary new Persil Powergems that helps get rid of stains, care for your laundry and leaves it smelling fresh I was intrigued. As a family we have always used Persil laundry detergent, my parents used it when I was a child and when I had my own children I carried on using it, as it is gentle on my daughter's sensitive skin. Persil is a brand that I have grown up with, used for many years and trust so I was keen to see how the new Powergems compared to my usual Persil non-bio powder.

BRIO Police Station Review

My little boy Jacob will be three at the end of next month and he is really starting to show an interest in the toys he likes and make up little role play games. He is really into emergency services like policemen and firemen, he has a toy fire station and engine but he does not have any police toys. So when we were recently sent a BRIO police station set he could not wait to start playing.

Nania Imax Group 1, 2 and 3 Car Seat From Kiddies Kingdom - Review

My little boy Jacob will be three in a couple of months but as he is so big for his age he is starting to look a bit squashed in his current car seat - which is meant to last until he is four. So when Kiddies Kingdom online baby store recently got in touch to see if we would like to review a new car seat it was perfect timing. We were sent the Nania Imax group 1, 2 and 3 car seat Agora Carmin, in red (it does come in different colours) and Jacob loves it.

A Day Out With Thomas At Stephenson Railway Museum

My little boy Jacob is Thomas the tank engine crazy, he has Thomas bedding, toys, pyjamas and train sets. So when I heard that Stephenson railway museum in North Tyneside was holding a day out with Thomas event a few weeks ago I just knew that I had to take him. I bought a family ticket for two adults and two children for £35 and we kept the day out a surprise from Jacob.

Puppy Surprise Review

One of the things that I love the most about being a parent is introducing my children to things that I too loved as a child. There really is no better feeling than reliving your childhood with your own children, one way that I do this with my own children is through toys. So many of my favourite childhood toys are still around now twenty odd years later!

Puppy surprise review

So when my 4-year-old daughter Sophia was recently asked if she would like to review a Puppy Surprise dog I jumped at the chance, as I loved Puppy Surprise when I was a child. These day's Puppy Surprise is a lot cooler than she was when I was a child, she is now brighter, more colourful and very cute!
