At the start of each year, I always sit down and look at my analytics to see which of my blog posts performed well and which not so well. It is always super useful as it lets me know what kind of content performs best and helps me plan what kind of posts to write more of this year. I normally get a surprise when I work out which posts perform well as sometimes the most unlikely posts perform the best. This year an old recipe post from 2015 received 46,400 views on my blog this year alone, the photos in it are shocking and it is an old post but for some reason, it keeps getting daily hits via Pinterest.
My second most popular post with 18,500 views this year is my review of Pirates Village Hotel in Majorca. This was a holiday we had paid for ourself and went on in 2018, we had booked it a year in advance and we had been so looking forward to it and it was a brilliant first holiday for the little two. All of the other posts I wrote about the trip performed really well this year too.
However, I only like to include posts written from the past year in my most popular posts so here is a look at the most-read posts from my blog in 2019.

1.) Kynren
I was lucky enough to be invited along to Kynren for the second year in a row and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time, even though it was pouring with rain. Kynren is an outdoor show telling the history of England and it is epic and like nothing I have ever seen before. If you haven't been to see it yet then I really do recommend a visit in 2020.
2.) Disney On Ice Celebrates 100 Years Of Magic
This was a post written in exchange for tickets to see Disney On Ice in Newcastle and it performed really well with thousands of views, it is still getting views now and the show has been and gone. This was just a preview post about the show heading to Newcastle's Utilita Arena with info about the shows and how to book. Disney On Ice is fab and if you have kids then I recommend getting tickets for later in the year when it returns as the whole family will enjoy it.
3.) 10 Pantomimes To See In The North East
This was such a popular post which I was surprised at as it was just a quick post I wrote and didn't expect to perform well at all. It was just a list of 10 pantomimes to see in the North East and a little bit of info about each show and so many people said they found it useful. I will be publishing an updated version for 2020 later in the year.
4.) Jack and the Beanstalk at Whitley Bay Playhouse
Following on from my 10 pantos to see post is my review of Jack and the Beanstalk at Whitley Bay Playhouse. My Whitley Bay Panto posts always perform really well as the team at the Playhouse and Blue Genie the panto production team and cast are lush and always share my reviews. This was the fourth year we have been to see the Pantomime at Whitley Bay Playhouse and it is always our favourite as it is perfect for young children. We are looking forward to next years production of Snow White already.
5.) Jump 360 Newcastle Review
During the Easter half-term, we were invited along to Jump 360 in Benton near Newcastle and the kids loved it. It is an indoor trampoline park with a ninja assault course located near the range and Benton Asda. I was surprised by how popular this post has been but it is getting so many views daily. It was a canny afternoon out and was something that my teen and my younger children could enjoy together which is rare.
6.) Our Wedding Day
The highlight of 2019 for us was our wedding in June and it was the most perfect day. After two years of saving and planning everything went to plan, the sun shone and it is a day we will remember forever. I wrote a blog post about our day and the wedding even featured in Your North East Wedding Magazine. You can read about our wedding day here.
7.) A Family Day Out At The Gate Newcastle
In May we were invited along to the Gate complex in Newcastle for a family day out. The Gate is somewhere I used to go drinking in my 20s and is not really somewhere I associated with being a family day out but I was pleasantly surprised with how family-friendly it was. We had a meal at Nandos and then headed to Cineworld to experience the 4DX cinema screen. It was a nice afternoon out and is somewhere that is ideal for heading on colder days to keep the kids entertained in Newcastle city centre.
8.) Harry Potter Package At Linden Hall
In September we were lucky enough to be invited to stay at Macdonald Linden Hall in Northumberland to enjoy their Harry Potter Package. We enjoyed a night at Linden Hall with some Harry Potter treats in our bedroom, the children even had a special 'three broomsticks' menu to dine from on the evening. The following day we had a cooked breakfast before heading off to have a magical day at Alnwick Castle and take part in broomstick flying lessons. It was a lovely experience and if they do it again this year (Alnwick Castle is shut during winter) and you have a Harry Potter fan then I really would recommend it.
9.) What Parents Of Teenagers Need To Know About TikTok
This was a sponsored post (I was paid to write about) in November about the popular TikTok app. Before being approached to work with TikTok I did not know much about the app even though my own teen used it. However, I was impressed with how safety conscious TikTok is and I wrote about what parents need to know to keep their teens safe on the app and to explain what the app actually is for those parents who are not too sure what it actually is all about.
10.) Cookhouse Holystone Review
We were invited along to our local Cookhouse and pub Holystone, North Tyneside back in October to try the menu with the kids. It was a big hit with the kids as they got to make their own puddings and the menu was full of foods that they like. We will be visiting again in the future as it is not too far from where we live and we all enjoyed the meal.
So there we have it my most popular posts from 2019. There is a real mix of posts with an old recipe and holiday review popular and a real mix of 2019 posts proving popular. I wrote a lot fewer posts than normal in 2019 as the first half of the year was taking up with wedding planning and the second half was rather stressful and I just was not in the right frame of mind to blog due to personal reasons. I am hoping to blog more in 2020 and we hopefully have some nice adventures planned so it will be interesting to see what my most popular posts this year will be.
