Now that it is October we have started thinking about Christmas in our house, which let's face it is the most magical time of the year. We love Christmas in our house and I normally start planning on what to buy the children months in advance, however this year I did not know what to buy them as they have so many toys already. Then the Smyths toy catalogue came through the letterbox and solved my dilemma, as the children adored looking at it and pointing out the toys that they really wanted.
This is the first year that my little two both properly understand the magic of Christmas now they are 3 and 4, it was so sweet watching them absorbed in the Smyths book and seeing their faces light up when they spotted something they really wanted. It was so much easier than taking them to look in an actual toy shop, that's for sure!
Jacob is really into Superhero's at the moment and his face lit up when he discovered a page full of Spiderman toys. He really wants more Spiderman toys an Ironman and a big yellow crane, which he spied in the catalogue - much to his daddy's delight. He is also desperate for Pop-Out Pig game and Pop-up Pirate, his face lit up when he saw them as he recognised them from the TV adverts.
Sophia had a vague idea of what she already wanted, mainly My Little Pony's to go with her castle but she discovered so many new toys whilst browsing the Smyths book. She now wants Fingerling monkeys, shimmer and shine toys and a new doll's pram.
From having no idea of what to buy my children for Christmas I now have lots of ideas of what to buy them as well as an idea of a few surprise gifts that they would like too. If you follow me on Facebook you may have seen that we actually visited our local Smyths store in Wallsend and stocked up on Christmas toys at the weekend, they had an offer on when we visited and we got so much for our money.
I normally really don't like Christmas shopping but I found shopping at Smyths so stress-free, as we already had an idea of what we wanted it was really quick and straightforward. Everything we wanted was in stock and we were in and out the store in around half an hour with all the must-have toys our children are desperate for, we even managed to get Sophia her much sought after Fingerling toys and Jacob's superhero figures and crane.
If you have children to buy gifts for this Christmas then I highly recommend you either pick up your free Smyths catalogue in store or request a one online at www.smythstoys.com as it really does make Christmas toy shopping so much easier.
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?
Disclosure This is a collaborative post with Smyths, however, all opinions are my own.
