Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring Five Little Doves

This week on Other Bloggers Family Lives I am featuring one of my favourite bloggers, Laura from Five Little Doves. Laura blogs about family life, days out, reviews and the most beautifully written and heartbreaking posts about her son Joseph who was sadly stillborn. Laura's blog is full of the most beautiful photos and words and it feel's like you're sitting down for a chat with an old friend when you read her blog.

So let's find out more about the family behind Five Little Doves.

Blogger Five Little Doves and family

1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?

I'm Laura, I'm 37, married to Gaz and we have five beautiful children. I have Lewis (13) and Joseph from my first marriage, Joseph would have been 11 and devastatingly was born stillborn at full term. When my marriage ended Gaz and I married, we had been old school friend, we had Eva (5) Megan (4) and Harry (3) - we didn't hang about! We also have a dog, Oscar, and our lives are every bit as crazy and wonderful as you would imagine as a family of six.

2.) Where do you live?

We live in Chorley in Lancashire, in the same village where both I and my husband grew up and went to school.

3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live?

We are very lucky that we have so many parks and beautiful countryside locally. No matter what the time of year you will find us in the park or the woods, anything to tire them out! Hehe!

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?

This might sound crazy, especially to those with dreams of living in exotic countries or exciting cities, but I am happy right here where we are, in our little village with my parents down the road, friends nearby, the countryside on our doorstep and a real feeling of belonging and home. I have always been a real home bird and although I have left for brief periods in my life, I always come back here.

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up?

Yes, I grew up just a few streets away from our house! My favourite childhood memory would be once a year when it was the Chorley Carnival. The whole town would get out their deck chairs and sit at the sides of the road with bags of 2ps, ready to throw on the floats.

6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead?

We are going away in October with my parents which will be lovely and then we are hoping to do Lapland UK again at Christmas. Next year? Who knows? I'm trying to convince my husband that we should go to Disneyland Paris whilst the kids are still young, fingers crossed!

7.) What is your favourite thing about family life?

My favourite thing will always be the fact that after losing Joseph and fifteen much-wanted babies, I finally have the family I always dreamed of. For such a long time I felt as though it would never happen for us but here we are, winging our way through life, and every moment we spend together, good or bad, feel like a miracle. We have been very lucky and having that close family unit really is everything to me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions, Laura, it sounds lovely where you live in Lancashire. It must be so nice seeing your children grow up in the same village that both you and your husband both did. I hope you have a great time on holiday and at Lapland UK and fingers tightly crossed you manage to talk your husband into visiting Disneyland Paris.
