Welcome to another week of my guest post series Other Bloggers Family Lives. This week I am featuring another of my all time favourite bloggers, Kate from the popular family lifestyle blog Family Fever. I discovered Kate's blog over two years ago now and I loved reading about her family life in Devon, her pregnancy with her youngest Eliza, the brilliant product reviews that she does and reading about her recent career change. It is such a lovely blog covering a real mix of subjects and beautiful family photos.
So lets find out more about the family behind Family Fever.
1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?
I am Kate and my husband is Kevin. We have four children - Gemma is 10, Jacob is 8, Max is 3 and Eliza is 1.
2.) Where do you live?
We live in Devon.
3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live?
We are lucky enough to live near the sea, so we enjoy regular family days at the beach - swimming, paddling, building sandcastle and eating fish and chips. We also like to get out into the countryside for walks and bike rides.
4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?
I don't think I would really be happy anywhere but here. It's a beautiful part of the world, and we are very lucky to have so many beautiful areas on our doorstep. Having said that, I think if we ever decided to leave the UK we would have to head to New Zealand.
5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up?
I have always lived in the town we live in now. I was born here and grew up here very happily. My husband is also local, he grew up in a town just half an hour away. I have some amazing childhood memories, mostly centred around the seaside, family picnics on Dartmoor and paddling in the stream opposite my parents house. They still live there now, and I have to admit it is amazing watching my children explore the same places I did when I was small.
6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead?
This year I have started studying for a new career as a midwife, so family time has become a bit limited of late, but we intend to go camping and there are lots of fun days out planned too. We like to visit Crealy and the Devon Railway Centre.
7.) What is your favourite thing about family life?
Family life means discovering new things together. Seeing things through the eyes of our children is so refreshing, there is always something guaranteed to make us smile.
Thank you so much for taking part Kate, I loved reading your answers and I always think that Devon looks like an amazing place to live. I bet it is lovely living so close to the beach and being able to visit all of the time. It is also so lovely that your own children get to explore places you did as a child, I totally agree that seeing things through your children's eyes is so refreshing. I wish you lots of luck with the rest of your studies to become a midwife, I am sure you will make an amazing midwife.

Ah great to learn more about Kate! This is a lovely idea for a blog series
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely that she's retraining for a new career. Love it when mothers did that, now if only I could think of something too! :) Devon is a lovely place, not surprising that she would choose to stay in the place where she grew up in :)
ReplyDeleteGreat to learn more about you. I've only lived properly in two places but worked in London for about 8 years and loved it. I do like the local community where we are now, especially with our kids being so small!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely to get to know Kate a little better - I find her so incisive and I know she will make an amazing midwife too!
