Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring Over 40 And A Mum To One

Welcome to another week of my guest post series Other Bloggers Family Lives, this week I am featuring Mary from Over 40 And A Mum To One. I have been reading Mary's blog for around two years and it is such a lovely blog all about life with her six year old son, family days out, reviews, travel and some wonderful photos.

Over 40 And A Mum To One

So lets find out more about the family behind Over 40 And A Mum To One.

1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family ?

I'm Mary blogging at Over 40 And A Mum To One, a late 40's mum of one, Ferrari F1 fan, book worm, happy snapper and lover of being outdoors. I spent my working life in Export before becoming a SAHM when my son was born in December 2009. I started blogging in 2013 and love the flexibility it gives me to be at home. Monkey is now six and a half and mad about trains, diggers and basically anything with wheels. Daddy P owns a fruit and veg distribution business and is a workaholic so most of the time it's just me and my son.

2.) Where do you live ?

North Oxfordshire.

3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live ?

We are lucky to have both Blenheim Palace and Stowe Landscape Gardens within 20 minutes of our home, we spend a lot of outdoors time at both.

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you ?

Tricky question. To be close to my parents I'd love to live near Sevilla in Spain. But if I was just thinking about myself I'd love to live in Thailand. I love everything about the country and it's islands - beaches, climate, food, people and exploring mainland. I've been a number of time and left a part of my heart there.

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up ?

I was born in Kent, but we moved to Surrey when I was 2 and then to Oxfordshire when I was 14. I've spent the last 34 years in various places in North Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire.

I loved living in Surrey, we had a big garden with plenty of room for my brother and I to go wild. I remember having our own Mini Olympics in the back garden. We lived near to a Copse too, so plenty of den building opportunities. We always went to Bournemouth for 2 weeks in the summer and I've always loved it there. We'd run through the Chines and spend all day on the beach. Perfect.

6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead ?

Daddy P is 50 in October so I've got a few things in mind that I need to sort out, other than that I tend not to plan much further ahead than that.

7.) What is your favourite thing about family life ?

Seeing the world through my son's eyes. The world is magical when you are a child, we forget that. The look on his face the first time he saw the Thomas train at Thomasland a few years ago will stay with me forever. Watching my son growing up, I know I'm very fortunate to have been able to be at home with him from day one.

Thank you so much for taking part Mary, I loved reading your answers. Thailand is a country that I have always wanted to visit myself as it looks so beautiful, I hope you get to return someday. It sounds wonderful where you live, with so much to do close by. I hope that your husband has a wonderful 50th birthday next month.
