My Favourite TV Show's

Now that it is November and the weather is miserable we have been spending a lot more time indoors, all nice and cosy with the heating on. Like most families we spend a lot of time watching our TV, a 50 inch 3D Panasonic one, but I bet it won't be long until we upgrade to the amazing sounding Panasonic Viera 4K TV as my partner likes his gadgets.  Most afternoons we snuggle up and watch a Disney film with the children and on a night time, we will normally watch a show we have recorded on our planner.

I will be honest and say that I do not watch a lot of TV, as during the day I have two little toddlers running around. I often resort to putting Disney Junior on for five minutes peace as they are huge Curious George, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Doc Mcstuffins and Sofia the first fans. My teen flicks through the music channels non-stop and my other half is always watching sports, documentaries and films. So when I do get the chance to watch the TV it is a real treat to watch what I like and I normally catch up on my favourite show I have saved on the planner.

dont tell the bride on tv screen

My taste in TV shows is a mix of reality and real life, I like to watch things that are entertaining and that I can keep up with, even when I am exhausted off my son not sleeping during the night. I normally get stuck on what shows to watch and I am always on the lookout for new recommendations, so with this in mind, I thought that I would share my favourite programs in case anyone else is looking for something new to watch.

I'm A Celebrity

I am so excited that this is coming back on ITV in a matter of day's, I am from Newcastle so I obviously love Ant & Dec and who doesn't love seeing celebs getting made to eat bugs in the Australian jungle? I have watched this show every single year since it started and it is the only reality show that I watch regularly. I hate missing an episode and make sure I record them all so I can catch up with what has been going on in camp and this year's line up looks great.

Don't Tell The Bride

I have watched this BBC 3 show on and off for a few years and always liked it but recently as me and the other half have been talking about making things official and getting married I have been even more into it. This is a show where a groom to be is given £12,000 and three weeks to plan a wedding all on his own without his bride to be knowing anything about the day until she turns up to say her vows. I love seeing how the weddings turn out and how most of the weddings are unusual and seeing the brides reaction when she sees the dress her groom has picked for her. I don't think I would be brave enough to let my other half plan my big day as he would probably have it at St James Park (Newcastle's football ground).

Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners

I love this show as it makes me feel better about my house being a bit messy at times as I know it is never as bad as the homes in this show. This is a real-life show where someone who has OCD and cleans non-stop goes to help someone who has a really cluttered dirty house and they help them tidy whilst realising that they have a cleaning problem. I love seeing the transformations in peoples homes but it also makes me feel better about my house being a bit messy at times as I know it is never as bad as the homes in this show. My mum use to constantly clean our home when I was grown up and it was immaculate and clutter free so I can relate to this show.

Orange Is The New Black

I am sure everyone has heard of this Netflix show by now about a woman who is sent to an American prison and what she gets up to and how she got there. I kept hearing people say how good it was but I only started watching it earlier this year and loved it so much I watched all three seasons in about a week. I was a bit disappointed with season three but I am hoping that season four which is due in the spring is good.

The Gift Of Life

This is a recent series on channel 5, it is a bit of strange choice to pick as it is based at Newcastle's organ transplant centre and it tells the real-life stories of people on the organ transplant list. It is heartbreaking when you see that times runs out and some people don't get a transplant in time but it is also amazing when you see how an organ transplant can transform someone's life. This show has special meaning to me as I was a transplant family, when my mum died I signed the forms to donate her organs at that exact same transplant centre. It is nice to see it from the other side, to see what it is like for the family receiving an organ from a family like my own who lost someone we loved. The show will make you cry but it also makes you think about such an important issue such as organ donation.

I also have to mention that my all-time favourite Film is the little mermaid that film never gets old and I could watch it all day long which is a good job as I have just brought the DVD for my toddler for Christmas (yes it is secretly for me).

So that is my favourite TV shows, what's yours? I would love to know in the comments below as I am always looking for new shows to watch.

    1. I am so excited for the new Orange is the new black, I love Crazy eyes. I am always tempted to go on don't tell the bride but I dread to think what kind of wedding my other half would plan, it would either be at a football stadium or star wars or something stupid and he would probably have me in some horrible dress xx
