Recently my youngest was really lucky to be sent a Fisher Price Charisma 3-in-1 trike to review and I was so excited for it to arrive, as I just knew that he was going to love it. When the box arrived it was fairly small and lightweight (perfect for wrapping up for Christmas) and I was dreading building it as I thought it would be in loads of tiny bits and take ages. I was wrong as it was super quick and simple to build with easy to follow instructions and an allen key provided, although you do need a screwdriver to fit the wheels.
Building the Fisher-Price Trike only took 15 minutes and as soon as I saw it I was impressed with just how great it looked. We were sent the trike in green and the colour is really nice and perfect for either a boy or a girl. The quality of the trike is fantastic with a lightweight metal frame, secure plastic seat unit, rubber wheels and lots of fantastic storage space. This trike has lots of little extra features that I loved too such as padded harness straps and seat covers (which are washable), footrests for younger children who can not reach the peddles yet and soft easy grip handlebars and adjustable canopy. As well as a reclining seat, built in suspension and the option to easily swap from parent steering to child steering.
The full features of the trike are
- It manoeuvre's like a stroller
- Has touch steering handle
- Built-in suspension (for a less bumpy ride)
- High backed reclining padded seat
- Flip down footrests
- Lightweight
- Lots of storage
- Navigation button on mudguard (to switch from parent to child steering)
- 3 stages so it will last from 10 months to 3 years.
- Comfortable for baby and parent.
As soon as Jacob seen the trike he wanted to get in it, he has just turned 15 months and he is a big boy for his age but he still fits into the trike in the first stage mode no problem at all. He is still a bit too small to reach the peddles, although he did keep trying, so the flip down footrests was ideal for him. He looked really comfortable in the seat unit and even though he is quite big and has a big winter coat on he had lots of room left in the seat. The harness was really secure and looked comfortable too and was just like a stroller harness.
Pushing the trike was super easy and it really does manoeuvre like a stroller, in fact, it is probably easier to push then Jacobs actual stroller as I could easily push the trike with just one hand. I also found that Jacob seemed to be having a really smooth ride in his trike with no bumping around, thanks to the in-built suspension. Switching from parent steering to child steering was again really easy to do and was a great feature as I could control which direction we went in without Jacob turning the trike in every direction. I also found pushing the trike up and down curbs and steps really easy as the trike is so lightweight, even with a toddler in.
I loved the fact that this trikes seat reclines really easily so if Jacob ever fell asleep in the trike I know I could just recline the seat and he would be able to snooze away whilst safely and securely strapped in. I think the little storage bag on the handle and the little basket on the back of the trike make great additions as they are great for storing wipes and drinks if you are popping to the park or the local shops etc and I think taking the trike is more fun for little ones then being in a pushchair. It also gets a big thumbs up for the seat covers being washable as we all know how messy toddlers can be.
Their honestly is nothing at all that I dislike about this trike as I think that it looks great, is very practical, pushes like a dream, is lightweight and most important of all it is comfortable and fun for little ones. I like how you can buy this for a 10 month old and it will last until they are 3 years old transforming from the first stage trike to a training trike and then a independent trike as the child grows. This is something that will last a long time and bring hours of enjoyment for little ones. I think my son would go out in it everyday if he could as he loves it that much and much prefers it to his stroller.
I think that any little one would love this trike and it would make the perfect gift this Christmas. The Fisher Price Charisma 3-in-1 trike has a RRP of £74.99 but currently has £10 off at Smyths at the moment, making it a real bargain. I honestly think that this trike is worth every penny and after trying it out over the last week I would have expected it to have cost more than it actual does. I would give the Charisma Trike 10/10 as we love it that much.
Disclosure we were kindly sent the Fisher Price Charisma trike for the purpose of this review however all words and opinions are my own.

DeleteWe've been thinking of getting my daughter a trike. She hates being in the pram at the moment, so I thought she might be happier being pushed in something like this. I've not seen this one, but it looks good and is a more reasonable price than the ones I'd been looking at x
ReplyDeleteThis one is great, they sell them in Smyths and it is such a great price for such a great Trike. My little boy loves it and prefers it to his pram, they are great for using if your going to the park or local shop xx
DeleteWow, it's certainly bright. We loved our similar trike we had for N. They last so well, and grow with the child.
ReplyDeleteI was a bit unsure of the colour when I seen that box but now it is built I love it. xx

DeleteThat looks like a great one. We were given a similar looking one but I hated battling with my toddler as to which way way we'd be steering next at every street corner!
