As regular readers will know I am following the Slimming World plan and I blog each week about my weight loss, in the hope of shifting my baby weight. I was doing well on my diet and then kind of fell off my diet over the summer, but now I am firmly back on track and focused on the plan and have lost another half a stone in the last two weeks.
A while ago I was offered the chance to review the fairly new Slimming World recipe book for vegetarians called Veggie Deluxe. I am not actually a vegetarian myself but you really don't have to be to find this book full of mouthwatering recipes. I often get bored of eating the same meats over and over so this book was a nice refreshing change to the normal chicken and lean mince I have with most meals.
The book contains more than 50 vegetarian recipes with easy to follow recipes and beautiful bright mouthwatering images of each dish. It is split into four sections such as veg express which is full of super quick and simple recipes like portabello mushroom burgers and a really yummy potato hash with eggs, which I had for lunch recently. There is also a comforting classic section which has some lovely soup and pasta recipes. The nice and spicy section has a selection of curry's and onion bhajis which I am planning on making soon. And lastly the veg with an edge section which is full of clever recipes to incorporate vegetables into your meals with dishes such as ricotta and spinach crepes, and veggie paella.
So far I have only made a few recipes from the book but now that I am back on plan I am planning on making a lot more as I love the look of the gnocchi with mushroom ragu, winter minestrone and spicy aloo gobi deluxe.
The Veggie Deluxe recipe book is priced at only £4.95 which I think is fantastic value and is available from your local Slimming World group now. If you are following the Slimming World plan then I would recommend this book as it is full of recipes that will help you on your weight loss journey and will make a great addition to any Slimming World recipe book collection.
Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this book free of charge for the purpose of this review, however all words, opinions and photos are my own.
