Sloane & Sons Double Memory Foam Mattress Review

Last year when we moved house we got a new bed, we swapped our old king size bed for a double as our new bedroom is smaller. However, we noticed that we were not getting a very good nights sleep since swapping beds, both myself and my other half were waking each morning with sore backs and feeling achy. Not what you want when you are a parent who has not had a full interrupted nights sleep for the past four years!

We kept saying that we were going to replace the mattress but of course moving house meant other things such as decorating took priority and gobbled up all of our savings. Then as if by magic I was kindly asked if I would like to review a memory foam mattress from Sloane & Sons and of course I said yes! I opted for the Wimbledon Mattress which is a double memory foam mattress described as

" Sloane & Sons Wimbledon collection Double memory foam mattress offers all the luxury and comfort of advanced memory foam combined with traditional engineering and high-quality craftsmanship to provide a sleeping experience that is second to none.

With anti-perspiring technology and essence of aloe vera plant integrated into the outer fabric, as well as all the benefits of a modern and expertly designed internal structure, the Wimbledon collection mattress will ensure a restful nights sleep leaving you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed."

It certainly sounded good, but did it live up to its claims?

When the mattress arrived it arrived rolled up rather small in a large cardboard box which was rather heavy. Luckily the other hand was home to take it upstairs and help me take it out the box and put it on our bed. The mattress is vacuum packed into a plastic wrapper and is very thin when you first place it on the bed, however, it expands before your eyes and within a few hours, it was the full 24cm depth.

I have heard that some memory foam mattresses have a strange chemically scent to them, but this mattress did not at all. You could very faintly smell the aloe vera but it did not have any chemical type smell at all. It is also so soft to the touch and it feels firm and very thick with a luxurious look and feel to it. It has two handles on each side of the mattress making it really easy for you to move or flip the mattress over.

When you lie on the mattress you really do just sink into it and it so comfortable, both myself and my partner have had amazing nights sleeps on this mattress since we got it. Obviously, as it has no springs in it feels really soft and comfortable no matter where you lie on the mattress and it doesn't make any noise at all when you roll over in bed.

We both absolutely love this mattress and have been recommending it to everyone that we know. The mattress is not cheap as it has an RRP of £499 but it is currently on offer for £249 which I think is a bargain for such a well made and comfortable mattress that you will get many years of use out of. It also comes with free UK delivery and a 5-year guarantee which gives you extra peace of mind.

If you are looking for a new mattress then I can not recommend The Wimbledon Collection from Sloane & Sons highly enough.

Disclosure we were sent this item for the purpose of this review, however, all opinions are my own.
