May seem's to have passed by in a flash, I am not sure if it was because of the two bank holidays or because we have been super busy lately. I know I say this every single month but I can not believe how fast the year is whizzing by and that it is now June! May was a really nice month and we actually managed a full month with no illnesses. Sophia turned four, we went on a little holiday and we have had lots of day's out in the sunshine. We have so many lovely things planned for June too, so let's have a look at what May was like for us.
Personal Life
At the start of May, we went away for a few days to a Haven caravan park in Berwick and the children had the best time. It was nice to spend time together as a family without technology getting in the way, the sun shone all week and we had such a lovely time. We went swimming, to the beach, for family meals out and to the mini disco every evening which Sophia loved so very much. It was a really nice, relaxing break and I think it was what we all needed.
Sophia turned four at the end of the month and she had a party at the local Wacky Warehouse (keep an eye out for a blog post) which she loved and I highly recommend. On her actual birthday, she was at nursery school in the morning so we just took her into Newcastle in the afternoon to build a bear and for a meal at George's Great British Kitchen, which was delicious. We got her a new Micro Scooter for her birthday which she loves riding to school every morning.
Sophia has started attending a special speech school two full days a week for eight weeks, it is a small group in a primary school and it is intense speech therapy to try and help with her speech delay ready for going to primary school in September. She loves the speech school and while it is a bit of a logistical nightmare getting her there and back at times, it has helped get her ready for starting reception in a few short months.
Myself, my teen and the other half went to the rugby Magic Weekend at St Jame's park in the middle of the month and while I am not a rugby fan it was a nice day out. We were treated to VIP seats and bar access which made the whole experience much nicer, I really enjoyed doing something that I would not normally do. We have enjoyed a few nice family meals out, some lovely days out in the sunshine and lots of time at home in the garden and I have loved spending lots of time with all three of my children as it doesn't happen often.
Blog Life
May was a funny month blog wise, I have started getting back into the swing of things after months of feeling a bit uninspired with my blog. However, things have been a bit of a disaster as my blog broke at the end of May and I was so stressed as I did not have a clue how to fix it. My domain name had automatically renewed and I couldn't get on my blog at all, it just had a redirect in place saying it had moved. I was so lucky that a lovely lady called Fiona from www.wisheshopesdreams.co.uk came to my rescue and fixed it for me, if you ever need help with your blog then I highly recommend her.
My DA score dropped and my Tot score, as has my page views and I think that has been the kick up the bum that I needed to get fired up about my blog again. I don't want to throw all my hard work away so I am going to start taking my blog more serious again.
Despite the drop in stats I have actually been really busy blog wise in May and have been working on some of my biggest campaigns to date. This month's highlights have been working with Wacky Warehouse, attending the Dacia Magic Weekend, working with Smyths Toy Superstore, working with Boots and P&G on the #TeenTalk campaign for the second year in a row and also working with Disney on Ice again.
I am already looking forward to what June has in store, see what we got up to in April. What were your highlights from May?
Ahh! It sounds like you had a wonderful May...The holiday sounds great!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the blogging. It sounds like things are going well...Stats aren't everything. hehehe x
We really did, the holiday was fab and so cheap too we only paid £150 for four days and that was with an upgraded caravan. Your girls would love it as it is ideal for children and right near the town centre and beach, I really need to blog about it. I know I need to remind myself stats aren't everything but it is rubbish when you see them drop. I wish I had your dedication to blog daily xx
DeleteLooks like a busy month. Lots of lovely pictures :)
ReplyDeleteIt really was so busy, lots of adventures xx
DeleteWhat a fab month May was for you. The holiday sounds perfect, it's nice to shut off and get away isn't it?! Glad you got your blog sorted too, what a nightmare that must have been! x
ReplyDeleteIt really was a lovely month, little breaks away and family time are the best xx
DeleteSounds like you had a great May. Berwick looks great, I have been to Haggerston which is close by. The Magic weekend was fab, shame I didn't see you there
ReplyDeleteBerwick is lovely, such a great site. I know it would have been lovely to catch up with you at the magic weekend, I was only there on the Saturday xx
DeleteGlad you are fired up about your blog again :) I was really downhearted at the start of May when Tots told me all my previous scores were invalid so I was left in limbo not knowing how I was doing, my first score this month wasn't fab but now I know what I'm working towards so fingers crossed :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals, I am sure you will get a good score in time it took me ages to get a number on my badge and having a number really doesn't change anything stats or opps wise xx
