If your cat had a career what would it be? This was a question I was recently asked by Whiskas, after thinking of what our family cat Marmalade's personality is like I decided that his perfect job would be a security guard. Marmalade is seven years old now, so I guess you could class him as middle aged in cat years. He is my eldest daughter Chloe's cat and we have had him since he was a tiny little kitten, so we have seen his personality grow and know exactly what he is like as he is an indoor cat who likes to make his presence known.
Marmalade is a typical cat who spends a lot of time sleeping, normally in the strangest of places (his current favourite place is in a doll's pram and amongst the clothes on the clothes horse). He adores being stroked - but only when it suits him and he spends his days looking out the windows, playing with his toys and marching around the house like he rules the place. His favourite time of day is definitely meal time and no matter where he is in the house as soon as he hears his food bowl getting filled up he comes running. We have fed him Whiskas kitten food ever since he was a kitten and now he is older he loves the adult sachets of meat in gravy.
So what makes me think Marmalade would make a great security guard? As he is an indoor cat he is very territorial of his home, he loves looking out the window watching the world go by, but he is not too happy if another cat appears in the garden. He responds to every tiny little noise and will go and investigate and let you know straight away if anyone is at the door or there is an unfamiliar noise. Although he often runs and hides when people visit, we will have to work on that to get him security guard ready.
Marmalade loves exploring all the rooms in the house, one by one to make sure everything is as it should be.
He is certainly one unique cat, which is something Whiskas recognise as they know every cat is individual and special. This is why they have created this adorable Kitten Kollege video which is super cute!
If you have a cat what career do you think is best suited to them?
This is a collaboration with WHISKAS, but all thoughts are my own. Check out their website for more information on their cat food and their YouTube channel for fantastic Kitten Kollege videos.
Clever post. Our dog likes to always sit up as high as he can so on the back of the sofa or on a set of steps. I always like to think if he had a career he would be some kind of boat captain!
ReplyDeleteI love that idea for your dog, I could just imagine a dog on a boat
DeleteI think Mr Fluff my cat would have to be a wrestler! He is not the most sociable of cats and can easily turn round and nip you or scratch.
ReplyDeleteMy cat is not very sociable either, unless it is on his terms xx
DeleteThis is hilarious! I think out of all pets, cats definitely have the most unique personalities! Marmalade sounds like the absolute perfect security guard!
ReplyDeleteThey really do have such unique personalities xx
Deleteha ha! This is a cool post. I don't have a cat anymore but I think our cat fluffy would be a great security guard too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Angela xx
DeleteAwww so cute I love the idea of thinking about what career our cats would have it certainly looks like yours would make a good security guard!
ReplyDeleteThank you Talya xx
DeleteI think my cat would have a bouncer. Firm but fair, and massive.
ReplyDeleteHaha I love that xx
DeleteThat's really cute! I have some friends with cats who I will forward the link to your post to.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenni xx
DeleteI have three cats, all with very different personalities. Tilly, the tabby cat, is brave and daring and a bit of a thrill seeker, always wanting adventure (she takes after her humum, definitely!), so I reckon she'd be a full-time travel blogger hehe!
ReplyDeleteLola is a bit of an oddball, she's a tortie with the biggest eyes and the funniest squeak. She carries her toy giraffey around with her everywhere, and cries when she's separated from him - so I think her career would be as a mamma, or maybe a child minder.
Then we have my siamese Maybelle - she's sooooo affectionate, but can sometimes get a bit whingy when she doesn't get her own way (usually when the bowl of food is removed because she's eating too much!). Because she loves her food, I think she'd be a chef lol.
xx
I love this! Your cats all sound so very different and I love the jobs that you have picked for them all xx
DeleteAw Marmalade is beautiful. If I had a cat, I think its career path would be an artist or something as exciting x
ReplyDeleteThank you Ana xx
DeleteHee hee, this made me chuckle. Muggles would be a police cat as always catching animals in the garden and Scamp would be a PI - she is very nosey, always needs to know what is going on
ReplyDeleteI love your cat's names and the jobs you have picked for them sound perfect xx
DeleteLove the idea of this! My parents' cat is very highly strung and stressed so I think she would be signed off on medical grounds :)
ReplyDeleteHaha this made me chuckle xx
DeleteWe don't have a cat but our dog would be a security guard too. He is trained for obedience and personal protection and if fiercely loyal and protective of his family.
ReplyDeleteHe sounds like he would make a brilliant security guard xx
DeleteHahaha I had to laugh imagining a cat with a career lol but I think a security guard for your cat would be perfect
ReplyDeleteThank you Anosa xx
Deletemarmalade is gorgeous! As a fellow kitty lover my four would be terrible workers, always lazy! Although Hades would be an expert cuddler, if there was such a thing!
ReplyDeleteThank you Charlotte, aw I wish my cat liked cuddles xx
DeleteAhh this made me laugh! He sounds like a great security cat!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Laura xx
