As a child, I adored reading and every Christmas I would receive some new books to read over the holidays. I loved locking myself away in my bedroom and getting lost in a good book, Enid Blyton books about the famous five, Amelia Jane and the magic faraway tree were by far my favourite. As I have such fond memories of reading as a child I always buy my own children a selection of books for Christmas, as I think they make such a lovely gift. My teen will be getting the latest Zoella novel and my two and three-year-olds will be getting some new bedtime story books to add to their bookshelf.
We were recently sent a package containing some lovely Children's books from Penguin Random House to give as presents this Christmas. The three books we were sent were Max and Bird by Ed Vere, The Dinosaur that Popped Christmas by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter and The Little Elephant Who Wants To Fall Asleep by Carl-Johan Forssen Ehrlin.
This is the latest book from the best-selling author of The Rabbit Who Wants To Fall asleep, featuring all-new child tested and parent approved techniques to help little ones go to sleep. The story follows Ellen the elephant as she goes on a journey through the magical forest where she meets some calming characters that will encourage little ones to nod off to sleep.
I will be giving this book to my little boy Jacob who is two-years-old as regular readers will know that he is not the best sleeper and after two years of very little sleep, I am hoping this book will help him sleep a little better. I think he will love the illustrations in this book and it also sounds like the perfect bedtime story.
This is the third book in the popular New York Times bestseller Max Series by author Ed Vere. It tells the tale of little black kitten Max who wants to chase and eat birds. He meets Bird who is meant to be chased and get eating from kittens. However, they soon become friends and it turns into a lovely tale of friendship with lovely illustrations.
I just know that my three-year-old daughter will love this book as she really enjoys any kind of animal story. The illustrations and a nice tale of friendship will also appeal to her and I think this will be a great addition to her every growing book collection.
The Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas by Tom Fletcher & Dougie Poynter
This is the Christmas edition of the popular Dinosaur that pooped series, we have not read any of the previous books but I have heard that they are great hits with children. This festive tale tells the story of Danny, a boy who wants everything for Christmas. Danny gets a real Dinosaur for Christmas who ends up eating everything in site and what goes in must come out.
This is a lovely illustrated hardbacked book that I think I just know that my little two will find hilarious. I am going to wrap this book up as part of the children's book advent so that they can read it in the run-up to Christmas as it is a fun festive book.
Are your children getting any books this Christmas?
Disclosure I was sent these books for the purpose of this post from Penguin Random House & Britmums. However, all opinions and images are my own.
I always end up buying someone a book. My eldest had the new Dan TDM one for Christmas - honestly tweens love YouTubers don't they?!
