Can you believe that iconic doll Baby Born has celebrated its 25th year this year? It is a doll that has really stood the test of time and generations of children have enjoyed. My eldest daughter who is now 14 received a Baby Born doll for her third birthday and it was such a loved and very much played with doll that she treasured for many years. So when my three-year-old daughter Sophia was offered a Baby Born doll to review I just knew that she would fall in love and have hours of fun with this classic doll, just like her big sister did over ten years ago!
To celebrate the 25th Birthday of Baby Born they have released a special Happy Birthday doll, which is such a lovely idea. The Happy Birthday Baby Born doll comes dressed in a beautiful pink party dress, matching pink shoes and complete with a birthday crown. She also comes with lots of accessories to celebrate her birthday party in style, which little ones can join in with. Like all Baby Born dolls she is very lifelike and can drink her bottle and then wee on her potty, she can cry real tears too.
As she comes with so many accessories she comes in quite a big box which I imagine would be magical for little ones to open up on Christmas morning or on their birthday. Included in the box you get the Baby Born doll, dressed in her party outfit and crown, a matching bracelet for herself and for the child to wear. She comes with everything you will need to look after her, such as a bottle, dummy, potty, nappy, feeding bowl and spoon and a sachet of 'food'. She also comes with some party accessories which are perfect for creating a little tea party with, these are four colourful plastic beakers, and four matching plates and forks.
When my daughter Sophia set eyes on the box with Happy Birthday Baby Born in she instantly said "wow" and could not wait to get her out of the box and start to play. She loved her outfit which she said was "pretty" and she especially loved that you could easily take her shoes on and off. She instantly set to work creating a little tea-party with the party items and sat having a little party with her new doll, which was so adorable to watch.
She also really liked the fact that you can feed baby born a bottle of water and was amazed that she had an actual wee on the potty. My two-year-old son was totally fascinated by this too and keeps wanting to make her go on the potty for a wee. As a parent who has previously owned a Baby Born doll many years ago, it is really nice to see that she looks exactly the same as she did all of those years ago and has not changed too much. Obviously there has been some adjustments to the doll in recent years such as the weeing function is better and making her cry is much easier than she recently was.
Sophia has been playing with her new Happy Birthday Baby Born doll for a couple of weeks now and she absolutely loves her. I know myself from previous experience that these dolls are so well made and durable that Sophia will be able to play with and enjoy her new doll for many more years to come too. If you are thinking of buying your little one a doll this Christmas and are unsure which one to get then this is brilliant, it requires no batteries and does not make any annoying noises and little ones will love the fact it can drink, wee and cry.
