Welcome to week four of my new guest series Other Bloggers Family Lives, this week I have one of my all-time favourite bloggers Donna from What The Redhead Said. I have been reading Donna's blog ever since I started blogging almost two years ago, back when her blog had a different name. What The Redhead said is full of her family adventures, reviews, recipes, giveaways and general musings.
Donna and her family |
Here is a little more about the family behind What The Redhead Said.
1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?
Hi, I'm Donna, I'm 31 and married to Dave - a policeman. We have two children, Athena and Troy, who are 20 months apart but they're now about the same size!
2.) Where do you live?
We live in Camberley, Surrey in a Victorian semi - our forever home.
3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live?
We go to soft play near us a lot - there are a few good soft plays within a short drive. We're also not far from Virginia Water and a lot of other really nice green areas and forests that we love to go and explore.
4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?
I love living here, to be honest. We're walking distance to our town centre which is the right mix of brands, high street shops and restaurants/entertainment. We're also close enough to London to make it an easy day trip as well as being just over an hour from the beach and we don't have to drive far to be in the countryside either. I feel like we have the best of a lot of worlds!
5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now?
No, I didn't. I grew up in Surbiton, Surrey - the very opposite end of the county we live in now. It was a lovely place to grow up, very towny and only about 20 minutes on the train to London. It was close to big busy towns and there were so many people - but also green spaces and a good library. It was a lovely place to grow up.
6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead?
We have actually booked our first family holiday abroad and are off to Malta in July. We're also starting to get the ball rolling for our extension which will happen either later this year or next year. So we have a busy year or two ahead!
7.) What is your favourite thing about family life?
At the moment Hubby works shifts and I work around him so we don't get a huge amount of time together as a family - especially now that Athena is at school. So my favourite things about family life is the time that we do get together - and I make sure I fill that time with as many adventures as possible!
Thank you so much Donna for taking part. I loved finding out a bit more about where you live, it sounds like the perfect place to raise a family with so much to do. I love that you make sure your family has as many adventures as possible in the free time you all have together, enjoy your holiday to Malta I am sure that will be a lovely place to visit.
