My little boy Jacob is now 20 months old and he is not really into TV shows yet, he shows no interest in sitting watching anything. The only thing that he will actually sit and watch and that he adores is Something Special on Cbeebies, he is a huge Mr Tumble fan and shouts for "Tumble", so we make sure we record it for him to watch.
When Something Special comes on TV my very vocal little boy goes very quiet and sits watching the show from start to finish. I love that not only is the show fun for little ones but that it is also educational too, teaching children Makaton. Jacob regularly copies the Makaton signs and if we say something like 'friends' to Jacob he will always do the sign for it now as well as saying it, which is sweet. I use to use Makaton in my old job so it is nice to brush up on some skills watching the show whilst teaching my children a useful communication skill.
So when Golden Bear Toys recently got in contact and asked if we would like to review a
Textured Fun Sounds Mr Tumble I just knew that my children would love it. The toy is suitable for children 10 months + making it ideal for toddlers, he is 36 cm and soft-bodied making him nice and huggable. He is made up of lots of different materials giving him a lovely textured sensory feel and he comes complete with his much loved spotty bag, inside the bag is a mirror which my little two love looking at.
What Jacob loves the most about Mr Tumble is that if you press his hands he sings and speaks, if you press his right hand he will say lots of words such as colours and "hello how are you". If you press his left hand he will sing his trademark hello song, which is a huge hit. I loved that when you press tumbles hands as well as the sounds the stars on his waistcoat light up which really grabs children's attention and is rather soothing to watch.Textured Fun Sounds Mr Tumble I just knew that my children would love it. Textured Mr Tumble has been a big hit in our house both Jacob and his almost three-year-old sister love him and sit cuddling him whilst watching Something Special on TV, they have been fighting over him a lot!
I also really like this toy as it is really bright and appealing, it is a good size and is perfect for hugging. The songs and sounds will be very appealing to children and the sound is not too loud or annoying for adults like some toys can be. The different textures are really good and the tie-able laces, mirror and light up waistcoat really make this toy that little bit more special.
If you are looking for a toy for a Something Special fan then I really do recommend this Textured Mr Tumble as it is great quality and children really do love him. You can buy Textured Mr Tumble from Golden Bear toys at all good toy shops priced at £29.99, which I think is a fair price for such a well made and lovable toy.
