Christmas Books From Parragon

Regular readers will know that we are Parragon book buddies, this means that we are lucky enough to be sent a book for Sophia and Jacob to review each month. I adore reading and always have done since I was a small child and I am really hoping that my love of books gets passed down to my own children. I love nothing more than snuggling up with them on the sofa and reading a story with them both, it is something we enjoy doing most days.

Now that it is December and Christmas is fast approaching it is the perfect time to start reading Christmas stories to get us in the festive spirit. This month Parragon have helped us achieve this by sending us two Christmas themed books to review, we were sent The Night Before Christmas and Jingle, Jingle Little Reindeer.

christmas books for toddlers

Jingle, Jingle Little Reindeer is a finger puppet book, we reviewed a Parragon finger puppet book back in the summer and both my little two (aged 1 and 2) loved these books. So when they saw this one they were really happy. This book is a little rhyming book that tells the tale of a little reindeer who needs to pull Santa's sleigh and it comes with a really cute reindeer finger puppet.

The story is fairly short and has beautiful illustrations on each page making them perfect for babies and toddlers, the finger puppet also makes this story fun and helps keep little ones interested in the story. The book is a board book so that you can give your baby it to look at without it being ripped or destroyed and they also just the right size for small children to be able to hold themselves. Jingle, Jingle Little Reindeer is priced at £3.99 which I think is great value for such a lovely book. I am such a fan of these books I have even brought a few to put in my little twos stockings this Christmas.

The Night Before Christmas is such a classic Christmas story and I think that every child should have this on their bookshelf. I was actually going to buy this book to add to Sophia's Christmas eve box so I was really pleased when we were sent it to review last week. It was lovely to rediscover this classic Christmas rhyming book that I know so well from my own childhood, and it made me feel really festive reading it to my own children.

This classic story has been illustrated so well with touches of sparkle on every page which really make the illustrations stand out. Each page is filled with gorgeous pictures which help to tell the story that children will enjoy looking at whilst hearing the story of The Night Before Christmas.

This is a paperback book so I don't trust my own children with it yet as they would probably rip it but it is great for parents to read to a young child as a bedtime story. I love this book and it is such a timeless classic that you can keep and enjoy each Christmas for many more years to come. The Night Before Christmas has an RRP of £5.99 which again I think is a great price for such a beautiful book.

So that is some of the Christmas books we are enjoying at the moment, have you got a favourite Christmas book? If so let me know in the comments below.

Disclosure we were sent these books for the purpose of this review, however, all words and opinions are my own.
