Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring Lylia Rose

This week on Other Bloggers Family Lives I am featuring Victoria who blogs at Lylia Rose which is a family lifestyle blog and also a ladies accessories shop, I actually reviewed a make-up bag from Lylia Rose a couple of years ago. Victoria blogs about a whole range of subjects such as working from home, family, healthy living, style and home posts. So let's find out more about the family behind Lylia Rose.

1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?

My name is Victoria and I'm a full-time blogger from Gloucestershire, South West England. I live with my husband Ben and our two children, Bella 5 and Reuben 2.

2.) Where do you live?

We live on the edge of a city called Gloucester, a place called Brockworth which was once a small village, but now the housing developers are building everywhere so it's not really a village anymore! We're only a 10-20 minute drive from our four local towns/cities, but we can walk into the countryside behind our home in around 5 minutes. I always thought I'd want to live in town centres forever more as I used to, but now I've had a taste of the countryside I'd like to live even more rural.

3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live?

We love to visit Witcombe Roman Ruins which are within walking distance from our home, but a short drive with the children. It's a beautiful location and there's never usually many people or anyone there. Behind the ruins are bluebell woods and a path to the top of the famous cheese rolling hill, Coopers Hill. In the city, we love to visit Gloucester Docks to see all the amazing old buildings and pirate boats!

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?

I'd like to live within walking distance to a non-touristy beach and the countryside. We'd have a detached house and a lot of privacy. I'd like to have a few small holiday lodges on our land. I'm not sure exactly where this would be, perhaps Cornwall.

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up?

Yes, I grew up in the next town, Cheltenham. It's only a few miles away. I never thought I'd move to Gloucester, but the house is just far too expensive in Cheltenham, so we got more for our money moving just a few miles away. I used to be quite a tomboy when I was growing up and there was a green opposite our house with huge conker trees which I loved to climb.

6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead?

Yes! Having moved into our first owned home together three years ago we've always put all our money into our home, but this year I decided to start adventuring again! I have booked trips to Peppa Pig and the new CBeebies hotel at Alton Towers, so the children can experience it before they are too old. Next Easter I have booked our first family holiday abroad to Fuerteventura at a 5* all inclusive hotel on a beach. I can't wait! I've not had a proper holiday abroad for 6 years, so I decided to go all out and treat us to the best I could find!

7.) What is your favourite thing about family life?

Making fun memories together. Getting out and exploring and seeing the children so excited to learn new things. The craziness and the laughter.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions Victoria, it sounds like Gloucester is a lovely place to live. I hope you have an amazing time at Alton Towers and Peppa Pig land, I bet the children have the best time. We are going on our first family holiday abroad next spring too so I understand exactly how you feel about not being able to wait.
