Since becoming a mam I rarely have the time to read, so when I recently heard about the Britmums book club I swiftly joined up in the hope of discovering some new books and reigniting my passion for reading. 

I was sent a book called 'A Better Man' by Leah McLaren, an author and book I had not heard of before. However the blurb on the back of the book seemed intriguing, it read

" Maya wants Nick to be less of a workaholic, to come home earlier, to spend some time with his children." 

" Nick wants a divorce." 

Kids Don't Come With A Manual : Book Review & Giveaway

How many time's have you heard the phrase " I wish kids came with a manual?" lots of times I bet, I for one know that I have uttered those very words myself on more than one occasion. Everything you buy these days has a manual, but when you have children who are the most precious thing in the world we are expected to just get on with things on our own.

Being a parent is amazing and yes we do trust our instincts and manage to look after our children just fine. But sometimes it is hard and we second guess ourselves as parents.

 I was recently sent the book Falling to review. As soon as the book dropped through the letterbox I had a quick read of the first few pages to see what the book was about and that was it, I was hooked. 

I literally could not put this book down and read it within a day, I was reading it while my baby was asleep on me, I read it in the bath. I even stayed up late at night to finish reading it, and as anyone with a new baby will tell you staying up late is often a thing of the past as sleep is so precious when you are shattered off sleepless nights with a baby.

However, I was recently lucky enough to be sent a copy of The skeleton cupboard - a new book by Dr Tanya Byron by Mumsnet book club and I couldn't wait to have a read.

I had never heard of Penwizard book's before so I had a look on their website and was very impressed with what I saw. Penwizard offers a range of children's character book's which are suitable for both boy's and girls that you can personalise with the child's details, so that your child becomes a part of the story and is featured throughout the book.

Ordering the book was very easy, you simply click on the book that you want and fill in your child's details and then you can customise your character with the same skin tone, eye colour, hair style and colour etc .You can also customise your child's daddy character too, so that they look like your child and their daddy which was fun.

 Then you create an account and go to checkout and that's it. Super easy and very quick it took me less than five minutes.
