Baking A Pirate Cake With Baking Mad

AD - Paid Post.

I have never once baked a cake from scratch before, the only time my children bake is when I buy a box of ready to make cupcakes with their favourite character on. I honestly had no idea where to start baking a cake, I didn't even know a cake recipe - that's how clueless I was!

So when I was offered a Baking Mad kit which included everything I would need (minus butter and eggs) to create a Pirate Cake I thought this would be a great chance to have a go at creating a cake from scratch.

Baking Mad have a range of party kits such as Peter Rabbit, Princess, Pirate, Super hero and Unicorn designs, each kit will have everything you need to create the cake. You can also buy matching party accessories such as plates, goody bags, napkins and bunting too, meaning you can buy everything all from the one place.

Making Healthier Choices With The Change4Life Food Scanner App

AD - Paid Post.

I want to lead a healthier life and I want to lead by example so that my children lead a healthier life in return. My children are 3,4 and 15 and I think now is the ideal time to help create healthy eating habits with them.

I do try and ensure they eat a balanced diet, they have three meals a day, one of which is always a home-cooked meal. However with the juggle of the school run and after school clubs some bad habits have started to creep in.

Using the Change4Life food scanner app

So when I recently heard about the new Change4Life Food Scanner app I downloaded it straight away to my Phone, as I thought this would be a great way to help us make better food choices as a family.

You can find out more about the app at www.nhs.uk/change4life

Beko WX943440B Washing Machine Review & Giveaway

AD - Review / Giveaway

Before Christmas we were sent a Beko washing machine to review that has a 28-minute wash cycle, I know it sounds amazing, doesn't it?

As a family of five with a partner who wears a new work uniform each day and three children in school uniforms (two of whom are under 5 and come home covered in paint daily) my laundry pile is never ending! We probably do 3-4 loads of laundry per day. So a washing machine that can wash clothes in just 28 minutes was like music to my ears.

Cookhouse And Pub Holystone Review

AD - Invited.

Edit Cookhouse and Pub has since closed

Just before Christmas, we were invited along to the Cookhouse and Pub in Holystone, North Tyneside (Just off the A19 and near Benton Asda). Locals will probably remember the Cookhouse as previously being called the Stonebrook which served up traditional pub food. Well, it has had a whole new refit and has rebranded into the Cookhouse and pub and I have to say we were seriously impressed.

The pub is now very well presented, it has a really modern yet cosy feel to it with an open plan kitchen, large bar area. We visited on a Saturday evening with the in-laws and were warmly greeted upon arrival by the friendly and welcoming staff and shown to a table by the window. The weather outside was freezing cold but it was lovely and warm and cosy inside the pub.
