Enchanted City Newcastle

 AD

Something magical is coming to Newcastle city centre this Thursday the 11th December until Sunday 14th December - Enchanted City. This is a brand new winter event which will run in the evenings from 4.30pm once it gets dark. It is created by Newcastle Council, Northumbria University and the North East Combined Authority.

Northumbria University's campus which is located right in the heart of Newcastle city centre will be transformed into a night of cosmic wonder. Suitable for all ages it is an event for the whole family. Expect to see space themed projections, fire performances, lights and interactive workshops.

This is what Enchanted City have to say about the event.

"Join us on a cosmic voyage to discover the science behind the stars, the beauty of the constellations and the thrill of space exploration."

Expect to see sculptures twirling like satellites, the magic of the night stars and illuminated astronomers as you wander around the event. There will be food and drink stalls available to grab a festive drink or tasty snack.

Tickets are available to book  now via the website and cost £12.50 per adult and £7.50 for children over 3 (under 3s are free but will still need a ticket).

Enchanted City will be running from 4.30pm with timeslots available to book every 15 minutes until 8pm, the event will shut at 9.30pm. Expect to spend around an hour to an hour and half at the event. They are also running relaxed sessions on the Friday and Saturday between 4pm and 4.30pm. The site is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

We are looking forward to  visiting on opening night as one of my children loves the stars and I think they will really enjoy Enchanted City.
