Geisha Asia Newcastle Review

Geisha Newcastle must be one of the most instagrammable restaurant here in Newcastle. It has beautiful decor, cute photo opportunities, delicious food and cracking cocktails. Earlier in the year it moved premises and is now located in Benton (not far from four lane ends metro). When it moved venues it also changed slightly and it now also offers Italian food downstairs in Geisha Italia and upstairs is Geisha Asia.

Geisha Newcastle Review

A few weeks ago myself and my husband visited Geisha Asia one weekday lunchtime and took advantage of the lunchtime offers which are great value! If dining in Geisha Asia Monday to Friday between 12 - 5pm you can order two dishes from the daytime special menu for just £12. They also have a offer on cocktails all day Sunday to Thursday and on Fridays until 5pm where you can get two selected cocktails for £12 - I highly recommend the strawberry daiquiri.

Arriving at the venue we were struck by just how pretty it was, there is a photo opportunity as soon as you walk in with a swing in the hallway. There was lanterns hanging from the ceilings, blossom trees and blossom on the walls and it just had a really nice relaxing vibe. As mentioned downstairs is the Italian and upstairs is the Asian restaurant. We headed upstairs and as we had a reservation  (we had booked online that morning) we were seated straight away.

When dining at lunch time you can order from the main menu or from the lunchtime special one, we choose the lunchtime special. You can pick two dishes for £12 and it has things like salt and chilli chicken, ribs, wings, dim sum and sushi. You can order sides such as rice (£4.50) noodles (£5) or salt and chilli fries (£5.50) to go with your meal.

We didn't expect the portions to be so big so we totally over ordered, we both got two dishes each from the lunch time menu plus a side of salt and chilli fries and a side of noodles. There was so much food on the table!

We both ordered salt and chilli chicken which was lush, then I got dim sum and my husband got ribs. I couldn't even eat my dim sum as I was stuffed from my salt and chilli and some noodles. I would maybe recommend sharing the main dishes if your planning on getting sides too.

The food was nice, the salt and chilli chicken was especially good and the noodles were really good and not at all greasy. Even though I was stuffed I was still tempted to order dessert when I realised they had white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake on the menu - it was amazing!

Overall our bill came to around £60ish (sorry can't remember the exact total) which included two lunchtime specials, two sides, a cheesecake, two cocktails and two soft drinks. which I thought was good value and would have been a lot cheaper if we hadn't of had cocktails.

We really enjoyed visiting Geisha Asia and have both said we will definitely be returning soon. I also really want to visit Geisha Italia with the children soon as they do a great kids menu and some yummy sounding adult dishes, they also do a really good value lunchtime special menu too. If anyone has been let me know what they thought in the comments below.

You can view menus and book via the geisha website www.geisharestaurants.co.uk

Please note we paid for this meal ourselves.
