Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring Glasgow With Kids

Welcome to another week of Other Bloggers Family Lives, this week I am featuring Lynn who blogs at Glasgow With Kids. Lynn blogs about her family life and family activities and days out in Glasgow. 

So let's find out more about the family behind Glasgow with kids. 

1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?

I'm Lynn, and I am a mummy to a lively toddler and a baby boy, we live with my husband, our wonderful patient Labrador and our grumpy cat. We are a regular wee family, with far more traditional roles than I ever thought we would have before we had children. My husband works full-time and I work part-time, the rest of my time is spent trying to occupy and entertain the toddler in and out the house, that is where my blog originated from. 

2.) Where do you live?

We live in Glasgow, 5 minutes from the city centre and the West End, in the now super trendy Finnieston area. That happened entirely by accident, my husband and I have lived here for 14 years and the trendiness happened far more recently. So many cafes, restaurants and quirky shops popped up just in time for my first baby and maternity leave. Perfect timing!

3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live?

In our local area our favourite things are eating in the local cafes (especially for breakfast), going to Kelvingrove Park - our local, with the pup to see the ducks and to our little playpark. We also go to the Science centre a lot as it is our little lady's favourite place. 

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?

If it was purely about the location I would absolutely live in New Zealand. We went on honeymoon and I completely fell in love with the place. However it's just about that and honestly, I wouldn't live anywhere other than where we are just now. We are incredibly lucky to live so close to lots of family and friends and in a vibrant city with so much on our doorstep for families to do. 

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up? 

I grew up in the East End of Glasgow, the opposite side of the city. My parents still live there, it is about 20 minutes away from us. My favourite childhood memories are playing in the garden with my sister and cousins. I really want a garden!

6.) Have you got any exciting plans for the year ahead?

My sister is getting married, which we are all involved in. I am expecting the next few months to be reasonably quiet unless we happen to find a house, we have been trying to find one for the past 3 years. 

7.) What is your favourite thing about family life? 

This is such a difficult question, there are so many things! I love that our little family has grown and developed into four over the past few years. Each day is different and every day I see the little lady doing something new, which is lovely and exciting (and sometimes quite terrifying). But I think the best times are the cosy times, just us playing in the living room, or playing hide and seek. Those are the times I really cherish.
