New Year Plans 2023

Collaborative post

We have never really celebrated New Year as we always have the children and they go to bed well before the clock strikes midnight. However now they are getting older we have been thinking about celebrating for once as I think it would be nice to celebrate it for a change. I would love to go away for New Year. My husband suggested going to Scotland for new year as they celebrate it better then we do with Hogmanay.

While I adore Edinburgh we always go there and it is so busy for New Year so I have been looking at Glasgow instead. Glasgow is somewhere that we have never been before but have always wanted to visit and it is only a couple of hours away from Newcastle.

While looking for things to do in Glasgow over New Year I came across the website Skiddle which is packed full of Glasgow events to make planning a trip there easier. There is so much going on from Hogmanay events to tribute acts and parties.

Sadly I have had to put our New year plans on hold as I am working Christmas day, New Years eve and New Years day this year. But I definitely plan on travelling more in 2024 after all life is too short and is made for adventures and making memories.

Hopefully we can squeeze in a trip to Glasgow in 2024 as there looks like so much to see and do for families. From visiting the transport and travel museum, taking my son on a tour of Celtic park or Ibrox, visiting the science museum or the football museum and exploring the city centre and of course trying haggis for the first time.

And you never know I might actually be off work over New Year in 2024 and be able to get a babysitter and plan that trip to Glasgow to celebrate new year in style - fingers crossed.

What are your new year plans for this year? I would love to know in the comments below.
