Dressing The Kids For Summer With Debenhams

It is almost the end of term and my girls will be breaking up from school and nursery in a few days time ready for the long summer break. We are not having a summer holiday this year as we are in the process of moving house at the moment. I am keeping my fingers tightly crossed for some sunshine here in Newcastle though as we have lots of trips planned and two weddings to attend this summer. So when Debenhams got in touch and asked if we would like to visit are local store and test out the new summer kids wear range I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to stock up on some new clothing for are adventures this summer.

We visited the Metrocentre store and were greeted by the very friendly manager Angie and introduced to sales assistant Ashley who showed us around the store, talked us though the pieces and was just generally really lovely and a real credit to the store. My little two were being little horrors when we visited as they are only one and three and they are not really fans of shopping, however Ashley did not bat an eyelid and helped me select some items and generally made the whole shopping experience so much nicer.

The range of clothing in store was really good with everything from school uniforms, sleepwear, shoes, accessories, character clothing, beautiful occasion wear and a vast collection of summer wear all in bright and bold colours. Ashley mentioned that a lot of the items have been designed so that they can be mixed and matched, for example we brought a t-shirt for Sophia and it goes with a a pair of shorts and leggings that we also brought her. I think this makes shopping for children's wear so much easier as you can mix and match all the outfits up to create a look your child will love.

Selecting some items for Jacob was easy as I am a huge fan of the Ted Baker clothing range for him, I headed straight there and instantly found some jeans and two t-shirts. Some bright blue John Rocha shorts also caught my eye along with a bright bluezoo polo shirt and a funky bluezoo dinosaur t-shirt with zips on.

The boys range is full of bright and bold colours that can all be mixed and matched together. There was lots of fun printed t-shirts - like the dinosaur one we picked with zips on, I think these look fun and trendy for little boys. The way the store was set out made it really easy to match up outfits and find what you were looking for, such as the t-shirts were all laid out on tables with the shorts next to them.

I found selecting clothes for Sophia a bit harder simply because there seemed to be so much choice for girls as their was so many ways you could mix and match the outfits together, I could quiet happily of brought nearly the whole store. In the end we opted for a Ted Baker dress that is perfect to wear to a wedding, some denim shorts, a summer dress, leggings, a very cute I am 3 t-shirt - all from the bluezoo range and a pair of white shoes that she can wear with any outfit.

As my little two were being very uncooperative we were unable to try the clothing on in-store but I know from past experience that the sizing of clothes is normally a great fit so I confidently just picked their age range which fits perfectly. I decided to get Jacob size 2-3 as he will be two next month and he is big for his age, they fit him perfectly.

My little two could not wait to get home and try their new summer clothes on and I have to say I loved the outfits. Every piece from Ted Baker to bluezoo is amazing quality and look fantastic on, they are stylish, lightweight and totally perfect for summer.

I will certainly be containing to shop at Debenhams for my children's clothing as we had such a wonderful experience. The store was well laid out making it easy to create outfits, the prices were great value, the clothes are well designed and high quality and the staff are super friendly and helpful.

Have you shopped in Debenhams for your children's clothes lately ? If so what did you buy ? I would love to know in the comments below.

Disclosure we were invited to Debenhams to check out the kids wear range and were provided with a voucher to buy some items for the purpose of this review. However all opinions, photos and words are my own.
