Paw Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls Video Game Review

My children adored Paw Patrol when it first came out about 5-6 years ago, we must have watched every episode and we had the toys, went to see it at the cinema and to the live arena show. My children are a bit older now at 6 and 8 but they still have a bit of a soft spot for Paw Patrol, especially now we have two pups of our own. 

I am sure everyone is familiar with Paw Patrol the team of pups who have super powers and who save adventure bay from Mayor Humdinger and his crew of sneaky kittens. The Paw Patrol gang is made up of human Ryder who is in charge of the lockout tower which houses Chase, Marshall, Zoomer, Rocky, Skye and Rubble the super pups and sometimes features their friends Everest the snow pup and Tracker the jungle pup. 

Paw Patrol Adventure City Calls Game 

Paw Patrol Adventure City Calls is a new movie that is out at the cinema now and to coincide with the film Outright games have released a new video game for Paw Patrol fans to play at home. 

"So long, Adventure Bay! Paw Patrol is on a roll .... to Adventure City! When the pups learn that Humdinger has become mayor of a buzzing metropolis, they must race into action to save Adventure City from his selfish scheming. Play as your favourite pup on exciting rescue missions. Explore new locations, level up with vehicles and gadgets, play mini-games and save the day!"

The aim of the game is to save Adventure City from the pups rival the scheming Mayor Humdinger. So get ready to join the pups on a mission to defeat the bad guy and save the day again. You can play as your favourite pup and as well as the games you can play mini games - which my children really enjoyed playing. 

We previously reviewed Paw Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay game and this game is similar in that it is bright, colourful and featured all the characters from the show which children will love. It is really easy to use and my 6 and 8 year olds started the game up and started playing on their own with no adult supervision needed. It was great for teaching problem solving, team work and critical thinking and was a game they could actually sit and play together which made a nice change. 

In the game you have missions to complete and you can play solo or with two players (known as co-pup mode). The electrical shutdown mission was my children's favourite. When you complete missions you get to unlock mini games which are extra fun for children to play. The mini game are things like pup pup boogie (paw patrol fans will be familiar with this one)  and time trial. 

What We Thought

Setting up and playing the game was super easy and at 6 and 8 my own children needed no help at all and I think that younger children will be able to play the game and enjoy it too. It is a super child friendly game and is great for learning new skills such as problem solving and hand-eye coordination. 

I really like that the game has came out to coincide with the movie as anyone who has been to see the movie will feel like they are playing the movie. I honestly think that any Paw Patrol fan will enjoy this game as it is colourful, features all Paw Patrol favourite Characters and is super easy and fun for children to play.

I know that it is a bit early but I think this game would be a ideal Christmas gift idea for any Paw Patrol fans this years as it is sure to bring hours of fun.
