5 Festive Family Films To Watch This December & Giveaway

AD

I love December, there is excitement in the air as everyone looks forward to Christmas and children are super excited to see what Santa will bring. December can be such a busy time of year though, with shopping to do, Christmas parties, Pantomime visits, trips to see Santa and festive days out as well as lots of school activities too. We have been so busy that as soon as the children break up from school I am planning on doing nothing! We will be having a few lazy days at home, watching Christmas films and relaxing.

As a family we love sitting down with mugs of hot chocolate to watch Christmas films, it gets us all in the Christmas spirit. Fox have some great festive films that the whole family will enjoy including all-time favourite Home Alone! So here is a look at five festive films that are perfect for families to enjoy this December.

five christmas family dvd

Home Alone

This has to be one of the best Christmas films ever, I love how I watched it in the 90s and my children enjoy watching it now almost 20 years later! We must have watched this film so many times over the years but it never gets old.

8-year-old Kevin McCallister is left home alone by mistake when his family jet off on holiday without him over Christmas. Kevin has to protect his family home from two hapless burglars - Harry and Marv, which he does by setting the house full of bobby-traps. It will have you laughing out loud and it never fails to get us in the Christmas spirit.

Miracle On 34th Street

Another film I loved growing up in the 90s is Miracle On 34th Street which is a remake of the 1947 original film. It is such a heartwarming story that is perfect to snuggle up and watch on an evening and it can not fail to help you believe in the magic of Christmas.

Jingle All The Way

A dad is on a mission to get his son the must-have sold-out toy for Christmas 'Turbo Man', the story follows his hilarious quest to get his son the toy. It will make you laugh and is ideal for the whole family to enjoy.

Christmas Carol

Everybody knows the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and this Dickens classic will never get old. It is a much watch film for the whole family every December.

Deck The Halls

Now I have never actually watched this film before but I have heard that it is funny so I am looking forward to watching it. It is about two neighbours who try to outdo each others Christmas decorations staring Danny DeVito it is sure to be funny.

So those are the festive films we will be watching before Christmas and I can not wait to sit down and relax and watch them with my family.
