Inflata Nation opened its Newcastle venue a few months ago and we were invited to the launch event. Sadly we couldn't make the event but we were kindly invited back to try it out and we visited during the recent May half-term holidays.
Inflata Nation Newcastle is an inflatable obstacle course inside an inflatable building, so it is super easy to spot. It is located at the Royal Quays in North Shields and its location makes it really easy to get too as it is not far from the A19 and Tyne Tunnel.
We were booked to attend on a Tuesday lunch-time during half-term so it was busy but we could still get on everything without waiting and there was plenty of free parking available. We had already pre-booked the session online, which is recommended but you can just turn up on the day and see if there is space in the next session. When you arrive you just give the booking number and check the waiver is signed and then you go and watch a safety video.
Then it is time to have fun!
There are lots of different activities, all of the inflatables are lots of fun for both kids and adults.
There was
- Inflata bubbles, to bounce on
- Inflata balls, giant balls that you can bounce on and see if you can reach the end without falling off
- Inflata wreck, a giant wrecking ball
- Inflata drop, a giant drop slide
- Inflata duo, a slide you can race friends down
- Inflata bash, air-filled pillars that bounce back
- Inflata race, an assault course
There were giant ball pits and so much space to jump and bounce about as the arena is 20,000 sq feet in size. There is also an under 4s area for younger children to enjoy.
There are two cafes, one upstairs and one down which we only visited for a drink. They do serve food, hot and cold drinks and snacks and the prices were not too bad for this type of place, definitely one of the cheaper cafe prices.
I visited with my teen and her friend (both aged 16). There was a real mix of ages visiting from younger children aged around 5 to teenagers and adults, you need to be over 4 to take part but they do have an under 4s area for younger children. Everything was really clean and well maintained when we visited as were the toilet facilities.
Sessions last for one hour and cost £9.99 per person, you can add an extra hour on for an extra £7 per person. Under 4s are priced at £5.99 per hour, spectators are free of charge and there is plenty of seating in the cafe area for non-jumpers to watch from.
If you are looking for something to keep the kids occupied, for a day out with teenagers or for something a bit different and fun to do as a family then Inflata Nation is worth a visit.
