Gift Ideas For 5 - 8 Year Old Girls This Christmas

Following on from the gifts for teens post that I posted the other day I have put together a post for gifts for young girls aged 5-8 years old. I have a five-year-old daughter and I love shopping for gifts for her as I find it so easy to buy for her now, she is really into Barbies, L.O.L's, Unicorns and anything creative. However, I know that some of our family find it hard to buy for her and there is so much choice for children in this age range. So here is a look at some gifts that I am sure young girls would enjoy this Christmas.

1.) Disney Ideas Book

Featuring over 100 Disney crafts, activities and games this book is the perfect addition to any Disney fans bookshelf for rainy day activities. There are guides showing you how to create the crafts and it features so many ideas from much loved Disney films such as Frozen, Wall-E, Coco, Snow White, Moana and of course Mickey and Minnie Mouse themselves. It looks like such a fun book full of so many ideas for Disney Fans to enjoy. You can buy the Disney Ideas Book now from leading book retailers priced at £17.99.

2.) Best Fury Friends (BFF) Doll

Best Fury Friends are cure dolls that come with two bestie furry friends, one you can see and one of which is a surprise. The dolls come with accessories for them and their pets and they are adorable, I just know they will be a big hit with my daughter and her friends. There are three dolls to collect and they each come with different furry friends. You can buy them now from leading toy retailers such as Amazon, Smyths and Argos priced at £14.99.

3.) Shimmeez Unicorn

Unicorns are huge are still huge at the moment and so are sequins, so this Shimmeez Unicorn soft toy is sure to be a big hit. Covered in sparkly revisable sequins children will have fun seeing the sequins change colour when they wave their hand over the Shimmeez. It is soft and cuddly and lots of fun. Available to buy from Argos and other leading toy retailers for £19.99.

4.) Lock Stars

Another thing my daughter seems to like at the moment is key rings and these fun looking Lock Stars look like something she would enjoy. With so many different designs to choose from they are suitable for both boys and girls and would make a great stocking filler gift idea. They have hidden charms in their bellies and they are great for adding to bags and coats as a fun accessory. Available to buy from The Entertainer and Amazon for £5.

5.) Love Hearts

You can't beat sweets at Christmas and we always put a tube of sweets into the children's stockings. Love Hearts are a firm favourite in our house so we will be putting some of these into the Swizzle Love Heart tubes into their stockings. They are available to buy nationwide in so many shops for just £1 and are a great treat.

6.) Hat

I love pom pom hats and this knitted hat from Buff is perfect for keeping little ones warm in the winter and is very stylish. Available in a few different colours I opted for the purple as it is Sophia's favourite colour, it has a lovely star pattern on the front and soft, warm polar fleece inside to keep you nice and cosy. Available to buy online at Buff it is priced at £30.44 and would make a nice useful gift this Christmas.

7.) Illumi-Mates My Little Pony Light

These little lights are perfect for night time as they subtly glow different colours when switched on. They are battery operated and small enough for children to move around, making them ideal for sleepovers, keeping on a bedside table or as a novelty item on their desk. They are available in a range of different popular children characters such as PJ Masks, My Little Pony, Shimmer & Shine, Jo Jo Siwa and Marvel to name just a few. We were sent a My Little Pony Rainbow Dash one as Sophia is a huge My Little Pony Fan. They are available to buy from Amazon, Asda, Debenhams, Tesco and Argos for £7.99.

8.)  Lost Kitties Blind Box

My children love any kind of blind bag type toys, they love the whole surprise element of them and I am planning on filling their stockings with blind bags this year. Hasbro has these cute little Lost Kitties Blind Boxes which have a lost kittie and two accessories inside. They are perfect for adding to a stocking filler and available to buy from Amazon, Argos and Smyths priced at £4.99.

9.) Not Just A Princess T-Shirt

I love these t-shirts from Not Just A Princess as they are great for little girls who want to be something that is typically seen as more boy like. My little girl loves planes so I love this pilot t-shirt, they also have t-shirts for budding scientist, doctors, soldiers, engineers to name just a few. They really are career stereotype-smashing t-shirts and help young girls believe they can do anything they want when they are older. They are available to buy online from www.notjustaprincess.co.uk in sizes 6 months to 8 years old. They are priced at £16 and £2 from each sale will be donated to the charity Inspiring Girls International. Keep an eye on my Instagram page for a proper photo of Sophia wearing her t-shirt so I can show it off properly as soon as she is better (she has had a chest infection for the past few weeks).

10.) Fingerling Books

Sophia has two Fingerlings that she got last year for Christmas so these Fingerling books look like something she will enjoy. There is a Fingerling sticker activity book with over 500 colourful stickers included and lots of fun Fingerling activities. They also have a Meet The Fingerlings book which tells you about each Fingerling so you can find out more about them and what they like to do. Both books are priced at £4.99 each.

So those are some ideas for gifts for young girls this Christmas. If you have a daughter in this age range what have they asked for this Christmas?

Disclosure I received the products in this gift guide for the purpose of this post.
