Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring This Glorious Life

Welcome to another week of Other Bloggers Family Lives, this week I am featuring Madeline from This Glorious Life. Madeline's blog is all about her family life, a touch of psychology and beautiful photography. So let's find out more about the family behind This Glorious Life.

UK parent blogger This Glorious Life

1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?

I'm Madeline and I've been married to my husband Steve for 9 years now. We met the summer that I graduated from university, started dating in the November of that year and were in love by Christmas. We have two children Rhys who is 5 and Nerys who's 2.

2.) Where do you live?

We live in Swansea and absolutely love it! Steve's lived here all his life and I moved here to go to university back in 2000.

3.) What is your favourite thing to do where you live?

I would say our favourite thing to do here as a family is head to the beach. We're spoilt for choice living here, with all the gorgeous beaches on Gower, more often than not we end up down at Swansea bay for a walk on the beach and a splash in the sea.

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?

Honestly, I think I would always choose to live here! I do wish my family were closer but other than that I think we have everything we could ask for here!

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up?

I grew up in kent, so pretty far away from where we are now. My parents still live in the house I grew up in and I love going back to visit. I have great memories of playing outside with all our neighbours knocking on doors and asking if they could come out and play, and organising huge games of forty-forty! It was just a really lovely, safe place to grow up.

6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead?

We are hoping to visit my brother-in-law and his family who live on the Isle of Man at some point. We have only been over once, for the wedding and have been saying ever since that we need to go back, it's a beautiful place!

7.) What is your favourite thing about family life?

It's funny because by the end of the day I'm often craving some peace and quiet, but I do love the noise of family life. Hearing my children talk and laugh together, listening to them singing along to their favourite songs (Nerys, in particular, is quite tuneless and I love it!) and hearing my husband chat with the kids about their day at bathtime and then reading them stories(he's much better than me, he does all the voices) Those are my favourite things about family life I think.

Thank you so much for taking part Madeline, I have never visited Wales but it sounds lovely where you live. I totally agree with you about craving peace at the end of the day but loving the noise that family life brings with it, children laughing is one of my favourite sounds.

  1. What a great interview. It's so interesting hear about other people's lives. I love the noise of family life too, I grew up in a busy and hectic family so I never know what to do with myself when it's quiet.

  3. Yes it's funny that Madeline mentions a noisy household - most the time I want things to calm down but I remind myself that I'll probably be craving the noise once the kids have flown the nest.
