Hug Olaf Finger Puppet Book Review

This month as part of the Parragon book buddies scheme we were sent an Olaf finger puppet book called Hug Olaf! Like most young children my one and two year old adore Frozen, so when this book arrived they were thrilled with it and could not wait to get their hands on it.

The book is called Hug Olaf and it a is a small hard backed book with card pages, making it perfect for little ones. It is just the right size for little hands to hold and it has a really cute and soft padded Olaf finger puppet built into it, which my children instantly fell in love with, let's face it who doesn't love Olaf?

The book is beautifully illustrated with the much loved Frozen characters such as Anna, Elsa and Sven. The story starts with Olaf going on an adventure where he gets to fly across the sky, have a picnic in the sun and go to the beach just like he has always wanted to do. The story ends with Olaf going home and having a warm hug off Anna and Elsa.

On each page, there is a little prompt for the Olaf puppet to nod his head which makes the finger puppet part of the story. My children loved the fact that the puppet was a part of the story and had great fun trying to grab him whilst I read the story to them. I also found that this book was really short with only a few pages which made it perfect for really young children as they often get bored after a few minutes of reading.

Another thing I liked was that the words used in the book were really short and simple for little ones to understand. My two year old easily chatted away about what was happening in the story, she has delayed speech so sometimes does not always understand long stories. This book was perfect for her as she understood everything and really enjoyed playing with the puppet as I read her the story, over and over again.

I think that is a great book for a baby or toddler as it just the right size for little ones to hold, it is made of card so it won't get destroyed easily, the finger puppet will amuse little ones and keep them interested, the story is short, catchy and simple to understand which is a bonus. I think this is a great book for a young Frozen fan and I highly recommend it as my two really loved it.

You can buy your own copy of Hug Olaf from Parragon books or from all good bookshops priced at £5.99.

Disclosure: We were sent this book free of charge as part of the Parragon Book Buddies scheme, all views are my own.
