Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring A Cornish Geek

We have been away recently on a little UK mini break so this weeks Other Blogger Family Lives is a bit later then normal. This week I am featuring Emma who blogs at A Cornish Geek, which is a UK geeky parents lifestyle blog based in Cornwall. So let's find out more about the family behind A Cornish Geek.

1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?

Pre-baby I worked full-time in marketing for a students union but post-maternity leave myself and my partner made the decision to go part-time, so that one of could always be home with the baby until he is ready to ease into nursery. We've never been more broke but it's better than the alternative. Jenson is now almost 2 years old and we are learning to balance family life as well as time for ourselves and as a couple.

2.) Where do you live?

Cornwall born and bred! We've thought about moving elsewhere for our careers but right now Cornwall is the best place to be as a family. We like the laid-back lifestyle, having a beach on our doorstep and our families nearby.

3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live?

Whenever we've got a spare couple of hours we take the scenic route to the park. Jenson could swing all day if we let him!

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?

If we had all the money in the world we might give Spain or the Amalfi Coast a go but more realistically we have considered Bristol a few times.

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up?

Yeah, I've aways stayed pretty close by, except for one year when I tried uni in Winchester. I grew up on the beach we now take Jenson to, so that is pretty cool. There are loads of things I love doing here as a kid that I'm looking forward to introducing Jenson to, like watching Mazey Day parade, seeing the Mousehold lights at Christmas and rockpooling.

6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead?

Money's tight on a part time wage so we don't have any holidays planned, but we're looking forward to showing Jenson more of Cornwall over the summer.

7.) What is your favourite thing about family life?

The ridiculous amount of love and pride I feel when we're together, just the three of us.

Thank you for taking part Emma, I bet it is lovely living in Cornwall I have fond memories of visiting myself as a child - many years ago. I hope you enjoy the summer exploring with Jenson now he is a little older.

  3. Ah - they sounds like a really solid family unit. The Amalfi coast is somewhere that I've dreamt of visiting as well - I reckon it would be pretty expensive to live there though!
