Things I Loved July 2019

July started with us still on a high after getting married and it was a lovely way to start the month. The first few weeks of July are always busy with end of term school events and this July was no different so we were all ready for the summer break this year even though we have no exciting plans or holidays booked for this summer. I haven't been blogging much lately as I have been busy with the wedding and now the school holidays, so here is a look at some of the things that I loved in July.

1.) Wedding

I got married at the very end of June but we were still on a high from the wedding for the week afterwards. The day was lovely and we are so glad that we eventually got married and got to celebrate with all of our family and friends, it was a wonderful day that we will remember forever. I can't wait to get our professional photos back in a few days time.

2.) Booking A Holiday

At the start of the month we booked a holiday to Greece for next year, we are off to Corfu for two weeks and I can not wait as I have always wanted to visit Greece. We were originally meant to be going to Cyprus for a week but there were problems with the room we wanted (hotel rooms for families of five are like gold dust when your eldest is over 16) and the flight times changed so we decided to switch holidays and managed to book two weeks in Greece instead.

3.) Greek Meal

To celebrate booking a Greek holiday we went out for a Greek meal in Newcastle at Kafeneon and it was delicious and really good value too. We will definitely be returning as it was such a lovely place to dine with lots of yummy sounding dishes on the menu.

4.) Go Ape

My eldest and her friend were invited along to Go Ape at Matfen and they had a great time, they loved the treetop challenges and it was a brilliant activity for teenagers and adults to take part in. I am terrified of heights so didn't take part but it did look like a lot of fun.

5.) Toy Story 4

We finally made it to the cinema to see Toy Story 4 with the little two (eldest seen it on opening day) and we enjoyed it. I hate to say it but I didn't like it as much as the other Toy Story films as I wasn't keen on the ending but we did like Forky and the kids seemed to really enjoy the film and have got all of their old Toy Story toys out again.

6.) Netflix Shows

I have found so many great things to watch on Netflix over the past few weeks I have binge-watched the latest Stranger Things series, the final Orange is the new black, What If and Girls Incartirated. I am planning on watching the new series of Glow next.

7.) Summer Holiday's

I love having the kids off for the summer, it is so nice to have a break from the routine of school and after-school clubs and to spend time with the kids. We have so many lazy mornings and days out and it has been lovely, although I am sure I will end up getting stressed out in a week or two with the constant fighting.

8.) Christmas At Tyneside Cinema

I was invited along to Tyneside Cinemas Christmas in July event last week and they have such a great sounding Christmas programme planned. They have the magical Polar Express screening complete with the conductor and a drink and cookie, they have a Grinch screening and double-bill screenings of Home Alone. You can find out more by visiting www.tynesidecinema.co.uk

9.) Beach Days

We are lucky that we don't live too far from the beach so we have spent a lot of time at the coast in North Tyneside and Northumberland the past two weeks. The kids love the beach, collecting shells and jumping waves and they could happily spend all day there exploring and having fun.

10.) Panto

Yesterday we went to see the summer pantomime at Whitley Bay Playhouse of Rapunzel and the children absolutely loved it. They were up on their feet shouting 'it's behind you', they were clapping and dancing and having so much fun as they watched the show. I love how they have a summer panto each year as pantos are so much fun for children (and adults) and are not just for Christmas.

So those are some of the things that I have loved in July, it was a month that started on a high from our wedding and ended with some much-needed family time and sunshine. How was your July?
