The Book Of You Review

The new year is always filled with the promise of new years resolutions as people vow to break bad habits and form new healthier or better ones instead. Now we are a few weeks into the new year most people will have given up on those resolutions already, I know that personally, this is what normally happens to me. Making changes to your lifestyle is a big deal and for some people making big changes all in one go can be hard work and seem a bit daunting and this is why they fail.

So when I heard about The Book Of You, a book that focuses on the little small things that can help improve your life rather than making big changes all in one go.

book of you

Get ready to start living a better life, for you.

Your life is the sum of the small actions you do every day and every choice you make is significant.

This book will empower you to make change happen - one micro-action at a time. Because the small things really matter.

Reading this really got me interested and eager to find out more about what this book what about. The book is made up of 365 small actions, one for each day of the year, that are really quick and easy to do and you don't have to do them all if you don't want to as everything is left up to you to decide.

The daily actions are broken down into four categories which are food, mind, move and love as these are the areas that can help to improve your overall happiness and well being. The daily tasks are called micro-actions which are basically just small, achievable things that you can do in normal everyday life. For example, unsubscribe from unwanted emails, ensure you sit at the table for all your meals that day, complement a stranger or take the stairs instead of the lift. All really little things that will leave you feeling all the better for doing them.

The book never tells you what to do it just gives you ideas of things you can do that day, you can skip ones or mix the order you complete them around as it really does not matter as there is a little tick box next to each action to keep you on track. This is the perfect book to read first thing in the morning or last thing at night or to just delve into whenever you feel like it, it is also just the right size for fitting into a handbag too if you fancy reading it when you get five minutes peace during the day.

After having a quick read of this book I think that it is a great little book that really could help you to transform your life for the better. It will help you to realise that even small actions can result in change happening and reinforces in us that if we want to change the only way we can do that is by doing something about it.

Have you tried doing daily micro-actions in order to improve your well being before?

Disclosure : I was sent this book from Mumsnet for the purpose of this review, however all opinions are my own.
