Dreaming Of A Holiday

 collaborative post.

Is anyone else dreaming of a summer holiday abroad right now? I sure am. Last year we were supposed to go to the canary islands on a family holiday and it was cancelled, this years holiday was cancelled too and it has left me craving a holiday more than ever. The last time we went abroad was 2018 so I feel like we are long overdue a break in the sunshine. I have a sever case of wanderlust right now and just want to be relaxing in the sunshine around the pool with my lemon Fanta and bag of lays crisps, spending time exploring, going on boat trips and spending my evenings playing mini-golf, drinking lavish looking cocktails and trying out the local cuisine.

I think it is safe to say we all want a break right now, a chance to relax and unwind with our loved ones and to have fun again. I feel like we have done nothing the past 16 months (thanks covid) and I want to make up for lost time and have adventures and see the world again. I want to feel the sun on my skin, have a break from the constant rain we have had here in the North East recently and to spend quality time with my family making memories.

I have spent hours looking online for future holiday ideas and I think we will be heading to the Spanish island of Tenerife in the canary island's for our next holiday. I have been to all of the canary islands before at least once and I love that it is warm even in winter time, I have previously visited Tenerife in March and October and both times the weather has been glorious. Making it perfect for booking a break at less busy times of year, we have been thinking of visiting over the Easter holiday's in March/April.  The thing I like the most about Tenerife is that it is warm during the day but cooler at night and there is so much to do on the island for families.

Now the children are a little bit older they enjoy days out exploring and having fun and Tenerife has so many lovely places to explore. I have fond memories of going on a boat trip to see the dolphins, visiting the huge market, spending time relaxing on the beaches and visiting the Teide National Park. Now we have children I think a visit to the epic Siam water park will be a must visit as will a visit to Loro Parque zoo and Jungle Park to see the animals.

I have previously stayed in Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos in the south of the island but this time I have been looking at Costa Adeje with its blue flag beaches and waterfront restaurants and it sounds a bit more relaxing than the hustle and bustle of the livelier resorts. If anyone has any recommendations for hotels in Costa Adeje let me know as I can't wait to be travelling again, enjoying my canary potatoes (nicest potatoes ever) and  enjoying some very much needed quality family time in the sunshine topping up my vitamin D, destressing and making memories with my children to last a lifetime.

Have you been to Tenerife before? If so leave me some recommendation of places to visit and try when we go in the comments below.
