Thinking Ahead To 2019 Goals

Can you believe that 2018 is almost over? This year really does seem to have passed by so quickly, as the year is coming to an end I have naturally been thinking about the year ahead and of the goals I want to achieve in 2019. 2019 is a big year for me as I will *finally* be getting married in June and with this in mind, I am determined to stick to my goals for next year as some of them centre around the wedding.

I love New Year, it always seems like a fresh start when you open a calendar and see 365 new days to create memories on. Now that my children are getting older and all go to school I have decided that in 2019 I am going to make more time for myself and 2019 will be the year that I hopefully get my act together and get sorted as I am forever chasing my tail and winging it in life, motherhood and this whole blogging world.

So without further ado here are my goals for the new year.

1.) Save Money

A pretty obvious one that I am sure will be on lots of peoples list this year but I really need to start saving money. Myself and my partner are so bad with money and even though he has a well-paid job we are always skint by the end of the month. We have zero savings, not good when you have a wedding to pay for in six months time. We are both really bad at just going out and buying things we don't need and basically just wasting money.

This year it needs to stop.

We have drawn up a budget for the new year and have planned how we can save for our wedding. We shall be meal planning, cutting down on takeaways and unnecessary spending. I have opened a savings account and each month when my partner gets paid or I earn any money from this blog it will go straight into the savings account. I think it will be tough at first but it will be so worth it when we get our dream day and maybe we will even save enough for a cheeky holiday somewhere later in the year *fingers tightly crossed*.

2.) Get Healthy

Every single year my goal is to lose weight, every single year I fail! Every January I join a slimming club in my bid to lose weight and by March I have given up and put all the weight I have lost back on. So this year I am doing things differently and instead of putting myself on a diet that I will inevitably fall off I am planning on getting healthy instead.

My plan is to cook healthy family meals at home, instead of making dishes like lasagna out of a jar or ordering a takeaway or chippy (which is something we do at least twice a week), I plan on cooking healthy homecooked meals every day. When I have tried diets in the past I always fail as I hate cooking a meal for the family than a meal for myself, hopefully just making one healthy meal each evening will help me.

I am also planning on joining the gym with my friend and going on lots of family walks on weekends or when the children are at school. I am hoping the incentive of looking nice in my wedding dress will help spur me on too.

3.) Pass My Driving Test

A couple of months ago I eventually plucked up the courage to apply for my provisional driving license and learn to drive. This is something I had put off for years, but I have decided it is something I really need to do. It will make life so much easier being able to drive as I will be able to take the children out more on my own and it will give me so much freedom. I am determined that 2019 will be the year that I pass my driving test and get on the road once and for all.

4.) Get Organised

I am so disorganised, it is shockingly bad. I always leave everything to the last minute and then get all stressed out trying to get things done on time. I forget things all of the time, I am nearly always late on the morning school run, I am never prepared for anything and I am always in a mad rush leaving the house. It is exhausting and now I have three children in school I need to get myself organised. I have bought myself a planner and a family calendar for the year ahead and I am going to make sure I write everything down, so I don't forget!

If anyone has any organisation tips be sure to send them my way!

5.) Declutter The House

Another thing I really want to do this year is to declutter our house. We live in a fairly well sized 3-bed semi and we really should have enough room but we don't as we just have so much stuff. My plan for the new year is to start decluttering a room at a time as we have so much stuff we don't need anymore, old toys, clothes and unused kitchen gadgets mainly.

I honestly think by decluttering the house I will, in turn, be more organised, as I will know where everything is. I might even make some extra money by selling some of our unwanted belongings and the nonstop sorting and cleaning might help me in my quest to get healthy.

So those are my goals for 2019, what goals are you hoping to achieve in the year ahead? Let me know in the comments below.
