Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring Mimi Rose And Me

This week on Other Bloggers Family Lives I am joined by Kelly-Anne who blogs at Mimi Rose and Me, which is a UK based family lifestyle blog based in Norfolk. Kelly-Anne blogs about life as a mum, days out, beauty, reviews and food among other things. So let's find out more about the family behind Mimi Rose And Me.

Mimi Rose And Me Blogger with her daughter

1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?

Ok, so my name is Kelly-Anne and I am a writer, editor, blogger, wife and mum to one. Together with my husband Tony and our beautiful little girl Amelia Rose we have set up our forever home in the beautiful countryside in Norfolk. I am a self-certified tea addict with a love for the 50s, stationery and way too much Haribo. I launched Mimi Rose & Me as a way to keep my brain from turning to complete mush whilst on maternity leave. Becoming a mother has changed my life and along with the blog, my life is more fulfilling than I ever imagined. I hope to continue this new love for blogging whilst being the best wife and mother I can be.

My beautiful daughter is a cheeky three-year-old who loves nothing more than to get herself into lots of mischief and you'll be sure to remember her if you ever meet her. Amelia loves to go on adventures, exploring new places and loves nothing more than making new 'best friends', she has quite a few. She loves dancing, singing, jumping, baking and anything to do with Rapunzel. Becoming parents to our beautiful miracle baby is something we never envisioned for our future, however after so much heartache we were finally blessed with our beautiful baby girl and so this whole blog is dedicated to her, to document our adventures, making amazing memories together.

My husband, Tony is a professional maintenance engineer who is very passionate about his work and his girls. We always have so much fun together as a family of three and will always try and explore as many adventures as we can, those moments that need to be remembered. Tony loves football, rugby, DIY and he is also a self-taught enthusiastic photographer.

2.) Where do you live?

The beautiful countryside of Norfolk.

3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live?

I have to say that I do feel so lucky to live so close to so much of the beautiful coastline. Breathing in the fresh sea air of the tranquil Norfolk coast, walking on the unspoiled sand where my little girl can build sandcastles, paddle or have a picnic. You are certainly not short of a few ideas in Norfolk. The beautiful cliffs in Hunstanton, beach huts and boats in Wells-Next-The-Sea, peaceful walks along the promenade at Walcott, or action-packed adventures at Great Yarmouth. As a family, we have created so many beautiful memories of all of these places.

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?

For me, it still would be somewhere along the coast. Preferably in a lighthouse, literally how amazing would that be? However, if we are talking hotter temperatures and I didn't have pale skin then Cuba would be my choice. It's a beautiful country, with a story and the people are just so kind and smile all the time.

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up?

Yes, I still live in the same area. My family moved to Norfolk over 50 years ago and so none of us really want to leave. It's not surprising why there are so many beautiful beaches, amazing walks and the scenery is just so beautiful. As I have started my own family we decided to set up our forever home in Norfolk too. It's the perfect location for families. Most of our family are dotted in and around Norfolk and so we are very lucky to be able to live by so many relatives. As a child we had so many adventures at beaches, I have to say that I do feel so lucky to live so close to so much of the beautiful coastline. Breathing in the fresh sea air of the tranquil Norfolk coast. Not only is Norfolk blessed with beautiful coastlines and local attraction there are so many woodlands and walks throughout the whole of Norfolk that we have explored and discovered. As a family, we have visited so many wonderful attraction such as Banham Zoo, Dinosaur Park, Church Farm, Amazonia Zoo and Sealife centre in Great Yarmouth.

6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead?

This year ........ we will start thinking about a family holiday soon. As our daughter is still quite young and my skin hates the sun we like to take our holidays in the UK. Last year we ventured to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and so we have been thinking of destinations such as Devon or the Isle of Wight. We are also making plans for a couple of weekends away as a family. We did quite a few last year and so we want to do more exploring.

7.) What is your favourite thing about family life?

As corny as it sounds, just spending time with my favourite boy and my favourite girl. We don't really get too much time to spend as a family as my husband is very passionate about his work and progressing, not in a way where he loves work more or anything. It just means we don't always get to go and do things on a whim, we have to plan. So spending time as a family just makes us appreciate our time together and cherish all the memories we make.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions Kelly-Anne, it sounds like Norfolk is a wonderful place to live as a family. I hope that you manage to book a holiday soon and enjoy lots more family time this year.
