March 2018

March was such a strange month wasn't it? I can not believe that it snowed for most of the month, crazy! March was basically a sick month in our household, every single day in March I had a sick child. First Jacob came down with a bad case of tonsillitis and was on antibiotics for ten days, then Sophia came down with chicken pox and was off school for over a week, my teen had cold sores in her eyes and ended up in the eye hospital twice, then Jacob got chicken pox. I feel like I have spent the whole month stuck at home with an ill or housebound child and I definitely have a case of cabin fever.

As we have been stuck at home with chicken pox everything has kind of been a disaster this month if I am honest. I have not been able to attend my Slimming World groups as I have been housebound with sick kids, I have rarely had time to blog and my house is a mess. I feel a bit bad saying this but I actually can not wait for the children to return to school on Monday and to resume some kind of normality.

We did have a few nice moments during March though as I took my girls to see Beauty & the Beast pantomime at the Tyne Theatre which they really enjoyed. The little two went bowling with their dad and cousins which they thoroughly enjoyed. Myself and the other half enjoyed a rare date night together when we went to review Chaophraya Thai in Newcastle. I have also been doing a lot of shopping for our upcoming family holiday and kitted us all out with new summer clothes, fingers crossed the weather is nice in Majorca in May!

I have also become a bit obsessed with Netflix this month and have been binge watching box sets on an evening, this month I have watched both series of Jessica Jones, 90s teen show Everything Sucks, both series of Santa Clarita diet and have just started on The Crown. If anyone has any Netflix recommendations then be sure to let me know.

With the bad weather and all the illnesses in our house this month it is safe to say March has been a bit of a wash-out for us. I really hope that April is a lot better and at least we have our upcoming holiday to look forward to, we are now counting down the days until we jet off for some fun in the sun and quality family time.

How was your March?

  1. Oh no what a rubbish March for you, I hate it when everyone gets poorly one after the other. It's because it's been a long winter I think too

  2. Those are some good choices on Netflix. I am also loving The Good Place. That looks a fab meal and love the sound of beauty and the beast at the theatre. I would love to take my little one to this x
