Other Bloggers Family Live Featuring Sensory Sensitive Mummy

This week on Other Bloggers Family Lives I am featuring Nicky from Sensory Sensitive Mummy which is a family lifestyle blog that helps raise awareness of Sensory Processing Disorder. So let's find out more about the family behind Sensory Sensitive Mummy.

Sensory Sensitive Mummy

1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?

I'm Nicky, I've worked in childcare and education for over 12 years. I live with my partner Paul and we have two girls, Amber and Maisie. Amber has additional needs and we're currently going through the assessment stage.

2.) Where do you live?

We live in a village just outside Pershore, Worcestershire.

3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live?

We absolutely love countryside walks, there are many public right-of-way routes through the fields near where we live. We enjoy seeing the poppies in the fields and we have a beautiful little church in the village.

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?

We love Exmouth as that's where my Grandad lives, we've had a few family holidays there. We also love Taunton, Somerset as that's where my partner's family live. We often feel torn between wanting to be in that area and leaving my family in this area.

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up?

The village where we live now is only 5 minutes away from where I grew up and my parents still live in my childhood house. I've moved around quite a bit but I've never settled as well as I have until now, back on familiar ground as the village we live in is where I went to middle school. My Mum's family are from the farming community, so my best memories of my childhood are spending hours on the farm helping to feed the animals and playing hide and seek around the farm.

6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead?

We hope to have a holiday in the summer as we are yet to go away just us as a family of four.

7.) What is your favourite thing about family life?

We enjoy spending quality time together as a family, we both enjoy watching our children grow and what they are learning each day. We've learnt that the best thing we can offer our children is our time. Amber loves it when daddy takes her to the local park for a kick about with a ball.

Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions, Nicky, I totally agree with you that the best thing we can offer children is our time. I hope that you get to have your holiday with just the four of you this summer and make lots of memories.

* Nicky has since closed down her blog*

  1. Ooh I'm a huge fan of Exmouth too. If I didn't need to be close to bigger cities for work I'd totally live there - maybe it will be my retirement pipe dream :)

  18. It's so easy to think that children need a lot of money and things thrown at them, but time is EVERYTHING. That's what I tell myself too. I'm not too far from Pershore - big up the Worcestershire blogging crew!
