September 2016

I am so late writing my monthly round-up post this month, I normally write them at the start of the month and now it is almost the end of October! I was not going to bother writing a round-up this month as things have been a bit chaotic these last few weeks. I do love having these little updates written down here on my blog though as they are so nice to look back on for us as a family. It feels like forever since I wrote my august update.

Anyway, enough of me rambling on here is what we got up to in September 2016.

Personal Life

September was all about back to school in this house with my teen returning to school after the summer break and my little two starting nursery and pre-school. We also found out that we should *fingers tightly crossed* be moving very soon, so operation de-clutter and start packing is now fully underway, the house is in chaos at the moment. We did not have any family days out in September as we were just too busy, we did attend two family weddings, though. Attending weddings with a 2 and 3-year-old was so stressful, they went crazy for the candy carts. Late nights also don't agree with my little two as they like to be tucked up asleep in bed by 7pm otherwise, they turn into little grumpy monsters.

My teen returned to school after the summer break and she is now in year 9, which sounds so grown up! She is currently studying for her GCSE's as they have recently changed them so they start in year 9 now instead of year 10, she has no idea what she wants to be when she is grown up yet. She will be turning 14 in a few weeks, she will always be my baby, though.

Sophia started nursery at the local primary school a couple of weeks ago, she seems to enjoy it and we have had no tears so far. She looks so smart in her little uniform. She was originally meant to attend in the afternoons with all of her friends from her old pre-school but we were asked to switch her to mornings so she could get the extra help with her speech delay. She has settled in well but she is missing her friends a lot. She gave us such a scare this month too as she fell and stopped breathing and went unconscious I have never been so scared in all my life! It turns out she has something called Reflex Anoxic Seizures, which means her heart stops when she hurts herself but apparently it is common in children. Scary!

Jacob has started pre-school this month at his sister's old nursery and he loves it! He settled in straight away and has made friends with everyone, he loves it so much he is sad on a weekend when it is shut! He is such a little chatterbox and amazes me every day with the things he comes out with.

The other half got promoted again in September which he is happy about, we have not had a chance to celebrate yet though as thing are crazy with the imminent house move. Once we are moved I think I need to treat him to a nice meal out somewhere.

Blog Life

September was set to be the month that I got myself organized and got up to date with my blog and started scheduling posts in advance. As always none of that happened, yet again! I think organization and me just do not go very well together and I will always just be winging it. I worked on quite a few reviews in September, a lot of toy reviews with it being close to Christmas. I have started saying no to a lot of reviews lately as I just don't have the time and also because I don't want my children to have too many toys so close to Christmas.

My blog was a bit neglected during September if I am honest, I missed some of my guest posts and hardly posted any personal posts. I am amazed anyone actually read it. I just have not been feeling like blogging, with so much going on in my personal life something had to give and that was the blog.

I think between now and Christmas my blog is going to be a bit neglected, I won't be on social media much as I will hopefully be moving. I have realised lately though that taking a break from blogging and social media for a while is fine, everyone needs a break every once in a while. I am also going to be making some changes over the next few months too. I am still going to have this blog but I am also going to set up a new one too, somewhere to share my book reviews and new home DIY projects. This blog will be as it is now about our family life, the odd day out, my guest post series and reviews etc.

October is set to be a busy month for us as Chloe will be turning 14 years old! It will be half term, although we don't have anything planned yet. We are off to see Disney on ice at the arena and Joe and Casper at the city hall. We will hopefully find out when we are moving and I am sure I will be getting stressed, sick of packing and all these cardboard boxes that have taken over my house.

So that is what September was like for us, what was it like for you?
