Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring Blogger Mummy Lauren

Welcome back to another week of my guest post series Other Bloggers Family Lives. This week I am featuring one of my favourite blogging friends Lauren from Blogger Mummy Lauren - a fellow Geordie who I had the pleasure of meeting at Britmums last year. I love Lauren's blog as it is full of family life, her son who has had ASD, her adorable little girl, reviews and I love her new kids photography linky.

Blogger Mummy Lauren

So lets find out a bit more about the family behind Blogger Mummy Lauren.

1.) Tell me a bit about your and your family ?

My name is Lauren, and I am 28 years old. I'm a geordie lass, just like the lovely Lindsay! I'm married to a man from Northern Ireland, and together we have two children. Neil is seven, he has ASD and he loves Minecraft and Mario. Caitlin is six and she's a bit of a gamer geek just like her brother, she also loves My Little Pony and anything pink! Oh and don't forget our two cats Poffy & Candy.

2.) Where do you live ?

We live in a rural village in County Down, Northern Ireland. We moved here six years ago from Newcastle Upon Tyne. My husband had been studying at Northumbria university when I met him, after the two kids were born we decided to relocate to his hometown. I still miss Newcastle so much, the buzz of the city is amazing! We haven't even been back since we moved, I am hoping to this year! Where we live now is so lovely though, we are only a short bus journey away from Belfast which is a fantastic vibrant city.

3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live ?

We live in a rural area, there is a lot of lovely countryside to explore so we love going for walks! It's a coastal village so we have the beach on one side of us and the coutryside on the other. Quiet the natural playground.

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you ?

I would love to live in London, I've only visited once, but I came home absolutley buzzing with energy! I love city life, London is the ultimate city. I'd also love to move back to Newcastle too, because I miss it so much. I have grown very fond of Northern Ireland too. If I won the lottery I'd have a house in Belfast, Newcastle and London and then I could just move between them I think.

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood  memories of where you grew up ?

I didn't grow up anywhere near where I live now! I grew up South Shields which is just up the river Tyne from Newcastle. South Shields is a large town on the coast of North East England. My fondest memories from childhood are going to the beach, visiting Newcastle and getting to ride the Metro and going to Tommy's Parties in the summer. Tommy's parties were held every Tuesday and Thursday at the beach side, it was 3 hours of games and entertainment from local legend Tommy the Trumpeter. I can still sing the song they used to play at the start of each event, it was awesome! I guess you have to be from South Tyneside to understand though.

6.) Have you got any exciting plans for the year ahead ?

Not really to be honest, we do hope to visit Newcastle later in the year if our budget allows it. I am looking forward to the summer holidays (we get 9 weeks off in Norther Ireland) we will hopefully be visiting Belfast zoo, the beach and having family picnics and stuff.

7.) What is the best thing about family life ?

Getting to spend time with two amazing little people that I helped create is probably my favourite thing about family life. The kids are so funny and there is never a dull moment in our house.

Thank you so much for taking part Lauren I loved reading your answers and even though we are friends it was still nice to find out more about your family life in Northern Ireland. It sounds amazing where you live and much nicer then Newcastle, love the idea of buying three houses if you win the lottery though. I really hope you get to come visit home sometime this year too.

  16. Lovely to get to know Lauren better. I am a city girl too - I love busy places & the convenience of everything around. But it also sounds lovely where Lauren is now - I think I'm starting to appreciate the benefits of quieter rural places more now I have kids. I actually grew up in little villages right on the outskirts of Sheffield, so I think that was best of both & sounds similar to what Lauren has now. (Lucy/R is for Hoppit)
