The Three Little Pigs Book Review

The three little pigs is such a classic fairy tale that I remember fondly from my own childhood, it use to be one of my favourite bedtime stories. So when I was sent a gorgeous hardback slide and see copy, as part of the Parragon book buddies scheme I was overjoyed and was really looking forward to introducing it to my little two children.

The book itself is rather thick and hard backed making It perfect for babies and toddlers to grab a hold of. I love books like these as they survive little ones chewing on them and as the pages are made of thick card they can't be ripped either, which is always a worry when you have young children. As with all the Parragon books, we have read the illustrations are gorgeous and really bring the story to life.

As this book is a slide and see book on each page there is a little pullout section which has pictures and parts of the story on. My one and two-year-old love these slide out pages and enjoy sliding them out and then putting them back as they are so easy to move up and down. I also think that the slide and see feature makes this book so much more interesting for little ones.

Reading this story to my little two was so nice as it felt like I was introducing them to a part of my own childhood, my two year old already really enjoys this story and likes to huff and puff like the big bad wolf to try and blow the house down. I can really see this book quickly becoming a much-loved bedtime story in our household, just like it was for me many years ago.

If you have a baby or a toddler then I highly recommend this book as it will make a wonderful addition to any nursery bookcase collection. The three little pigs slide and see book has an RRP of £4.99 which I think is brilliant value, you can view more of the range on the Parragon website

Disclosure : We were sent this book as part of the Parragon Book Buddies scheme, however all views are my own.

  5. This looks great! I've been looking for a baby friendly version of The Three Little Pigs to go with out puppets. Think this might still have too many words though for little hands too impatient to turn the page for BookBairn. Soon though!
