Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring Confessions Of A Working Mum

This week I am featuring Kat who blogs at Confessions Of A Working Mum on Other Bloggers Family Lives. Kat blogs about being mum to little girl Willow and being a working mum, so let's find out more about the family behind Confessions Of A Working Mum.

Blogger Confession Of A Working Mum

1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?

Hi, I'm Kat, I live with my fiance Anthony and daughter Willow. We both work full-time (I'm a communications officer and he is a Refrigerator Engineer) so we spend as much time together as a family as possible. You will usually find us in the garden, at the beach or in the local park. Or eating, we love to eat! We often plan days out too, we pack a picnic and visit farms, parks and cities, Willow loves being out and about. She's a really sociable little girl, the trouble is she never wants to come home!

I blog about being a working mum over at Confession Of A Working Mum, I love the parenting community that I've become a part of. The support and humour are fantastic.

2.) Where do you live?

We live by the sea in Fleetwood which is in the North West, just outside of Blackpool. The beach is just at the end of our street.

3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live?

We love beach time, it is so close and great on a sunny day when we can kick our shoes off and go for a paddle and of course ice cream is mandatory! It's just as good in cooler weather though, we get wrapped up and put our wellies on and head out. Willow is 20 months and wants to run and jump everywhere, it's fab watching her picking up stones and shells and exploring her world. We feel lucky to live where we do.

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?

I guess if money was no object I would love to live in a town house in New York. Anthony and I have visited several times and can't wait to take Willow with us next time.

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up?

Yes, my mum's house is five minutes away. My favourite childhood memories are of riding my bike everywhere, there always seemed to be lots of us so we'd head off to the beach or local park. My Mum always made sure we were doing something so we used to hire beach huts with other families and be there from morning until night. We also used to spend a lot of time at local libraries taking part in craft workshops. My brother and I were normally running around wearing a homemade pirate hat or space man's helmet!

6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead?

Yes! We've just booked our first family holiday to Ibiza in October. I didn't think the first time I'd go there would be with a baby, but we have loads of recommendations for places to go and things to do for families. We're really excited! We also plan to visit Chester Zoo and we want to try and squeeze in a camping trip to the Lake District too. I think Willow will love it, although I can't see her being too quiet so our campsite neighbours may not get too much rest!

7.) What is your favourite thing about family life?

It doesn't matter how bad a day I've had at work or if Willow has kept us up all night, just one look at her cheeky smile and everything is ok. I guess we just love being together, no matter where we are or what we are doing and making the most of our time together. She's at the stage now where she is saying or doing something new nearly every day, she has us in stitches most of the time.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions, Kat, I bet it is amazing living so close to the seaside. I hope that you get to go camping and to the zoo and that you all have an amazing time in Ibiza on holiday.

  13. It's really nice to read about other families in this little series you run :) I've never heard of Fleetwood before, but if the beach is at the end of their street it can't be all "grim up north" hehe x
