Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring Baby Foote

This week on Other Bloggers Family Lives I am featuring fellow North East blogger and one of my favourite bloggers, Helena from Baby Foote. Helena writes about travel, days out and hosts a brilliant day's out with a toddler linky, I love reading her blog for the day out ideas and seeing where she has been travelling too with her family. So let's find out more about the family behind Baby Foote.

Blogger Baby Foote

1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?

I'm Helena and I am mum/mammy/mam to James and Noah, aged 4 and 2. Sarah, who is 21, is their big sister who lives with her mum. Rob and I both work part-time so that we can spend time with the boys while they're little. We've been together for a long time and we enjoy our holidays. Having children hasn't stopped us using our passports - if anything it's encouraged us because now we've got little people who need to be introduced to the wonders of the world.

2.) Where do you live?

We live in North Tyneside, which is a brilliant place to be; close to Newcastle upon Tyne as well as gorgeous beaches. So many wonderful things to do nearby for our children, and I'm really pleased I moved here more than a decade ago.

3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live?

As a family, we love to go to the coast for a walk, whatever the weather. We'll take the boys bikes these days and in the summer with a bucket and net, we can happily look in rock pools for hours. Afterwards, we'll pop into a cafe or pub in Tynemouth for a warm up, or get some chips and sit on a bench while looking at the sea.

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?

Living in the North East is wonderful, and we're very happy here. If I had to move, I'd probably choose either a gorgeous little town in Brittany or somewhere in Bavaria. We've been on a few road trips around Europe recently and seen some beautiful places.

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up?

I grew up in mid-Cheshire and moved to Newcastle for university when I was 18. Growing up in Cheshire was brilliant, I understand why so many of my friends moved back there to start a family. We used to live next to a school campus, one of my favourite childhood memories was making a kite and then taking it up onto the school fields one evening to fly it with my dad. That sparked a love of kite making, I'd make them from all sorts of things, like bin bags or ceiling tiles!

6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead?

We don't have any plans as a family for the year ahead. We are absolutely terrible at planning, even when we go on holiday it's very often a last minute decision. We went to Walt Disney World in Florida in 2016 and missed out on a few rides because you have to book your FastPass months in advance before you go. We only decided to go a month in advance, so rides like Toy Story were totally out of the question, as without a Fastpass the queues were often over 180 minutes!

We also visited France in May 2016 and there were a couple of occasions when we checked out of a hotel without somewhere else to go for the next night. I can tell you that gets a bit fraught now we have two little boys and we still don't have a hotel when it's coming up to bedtime...... maybe I need to make our resolution to be better at planning.

7.) What is your favourite thing about family life?

My favourite thing about family life is coming home and seeing my little boy's faces when they realise Mummy is home from work. Having to be away from them to earn some pennies - it's all worth it when there's a cuddle with my little ones at the end of the day.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions, Helena, I loved reading your answers and totally agree living where we do is great with so much to see and do. Tynemouth beach is also a big hit with us too and we visit often. I also love seeing all the places that you travel to on your Instagram and think you make a great travel blogger.

Helena has since changed her blog name to live, laugh, go
