SMA®PRO Toddler Milk

Advertorial Feature.

My youngest son Jacob is two years old and I have to say that these precious, short toddler years are amazing. Every day I love seeing the world through his eyes, watching him grow and learn new things whilst discovering the world around him, every day is an adventure and he sees the good in everyone and everything. His zest for life is infectious, although, like most toddlers he can be loud, energetic and likes to wake at 5.30 am every single morning, he is a little bundle of energy always on the go.

This got me thinking that as toddlers are constantly on the move, exploring and taking in new information, am I giving my son all the nutrients he needs for these active toddler years? Like most toddlers my son Jacob can be such a fussy eater at times, he adores fruit but actual meals can be a struggle as some days he eats whatever we give him at meal times and other days he only has a small amount.

Us parents are always bombarded with so much information that it can be difficult to take it all in, this is definitely the case with me and toddler nutrition as even after three children it is an area I don't know a great deal about. I feed my children healthy home cooked family meals and fruit snacks but I have no idea if they are getting the vital nutrients they need from their diet alone.

This is where SMA® Nutrition comes in as  SMA®PRO Toddler Milk has been specially formulated for 1 to 3-year-olds and includes a special blend of ingredients that will support toddler's nutritional needs as they grow. I have personally used SMA® Nutrition products, such as follow-on and toddler milk with all three of my children over the last 14 years of being a parent, so it is something that I am familiar with myself.

SMA®PRO Toddler Milk contains NUTRI-STEPs, which is a unique blend of ingredients that helps support toddler's nutritional needs as they grow. SMA®PRO Toddler Milk also contains Vitamin D and Calcium for normal growth and development of bones and Vitamin D to support the normal function of the immune system. It contains iodine to help support normal growth and is fortified with iron to help support normal cognitive development.

A study by The Diet and Nutrition Survey of Infants and Young Children (DNSIYC) found that Vitamin D and Iron are lacking in toddlers diets whilst energy (calories) and protein are higher than required. However, drinking two 200ml servings of SMA®PRO Toddler Milk provides 100% of a toddler's required amount of Vitamin D. Living in grey and rainy Newcastle, Vitamin D is definitely something that my little boy could be low on.

Knowing that Jacob is getting all the nutrients he need's from his healthy diet and his SMA® PRO Toddler Milk means that I don't have to worry so much about his nutritional needs. This means I can get on with surviving those 5.30 am wakes ups, chasing him around soft play centres, constantly tidying up his toys and answering why? fifty times per day. These toddler years are so short and precious and me and Jacob are enjoying every second of them, well apart from the early mornings but that is a whole different story.
