Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring Life In The Mum's Lane

Welcome to another week of Other Bloggers Family Lives. This week I am joined by Emma who blogs at Life In The Mum's Lane which is a family lifestyle blog. Emma is a mum of two primary school aged children and she blogs about a whole range of subjects, so let's find out more about the family behind Life In The Mum's Lane.

Life In The Mums Lane Blog

1.) Tell me a bit about yourself and your family?

I'm a 37-year-old mum with two children who are aged 6 and 9. I have been with my partner for 14 years but we are unmarried (living in sin!!!), I work part-time in an office but I am very lucky to do a term time working pattern. As with all families, life can be busy and I love the break from the school run every 6-7 weeks.

2.) Where do you live?

We live in Northampton.

3.) What is your favourite thing to do as a family where you live?

We are lucky to have loads of country parks, my favourite is Stanwick Lakes. Another favourite place to go is Mini Meadows Farm, it is where our lovely hens are from.

4.) If you could live anywhere where would you?

I do love Northampton, but in an ideal world, I would love to live near the coast. I love Cornwall but it is so far from everyone. I think I would probably pick somewhere in Dorset.

5.) Did you grow up close to where you live now and what are your favourite childhood memories of where you grew up?

I am born and bred in Northampton, although my parents are from Slough. I loved where I grew up, it was a quiet cul-de-sac with several families. A disused road was next to our estate and I think every child learnt to rollerskate and bike ride there. We used to have a cornfield there too which was a dream playground but it was turned into a housing estate when I was in middle school. I think we had a lot more freedom due to the location and amount of children looking out for each other.

6.) Have you got any exciting family plans for the year ahead?

We have several trips planned throughout the year. We are also planning a day trip to London, although taking the kids on the tube terrifies me slightly.

7.) What is your favourite thing about family life?

My favourite thing is when it is the four of us. My other half works long hours so it is nice when we are altogether out somewhere. You can end up doing a lot of activities solo due to working hours etc, so it is nice to get the chance to be together. I think I am looking forward to our trips more than the kids. It is also lovely that as my daughter is getting older she likes going on long walks with me so we get some time together.

Thank you so much for taking part Emma, I enjoyed reading your answers and I too live in sin as my other half has no interest in getting married. If you want to find out more about Emma and her family visit her blog www.lifeinthemumslane.blogspot.co.uk

  1. Fab read, I would love to live near Cornwall too. It's such a lovely place, but I'd be too far away from everyone too. Tubes aren't that bad, just leave plenty of time to get anywhere :)
