Something Special Textured Fun Sounds Mr Tumble Review

My little boy Jacob is now 20 months old and he is not really into TV shows yet, he shows no interest in sitting watching anything. The only thing that he will actually sit and watch and that he adores is Something Special on Cbeebies, he is a huge Mr Tumble fan and shouts for "Tumble", so we make sure we record it for him to watch.

Thing's I Loved In April

I can not believe that April is almost over, although judging by the snow showers the last few days you could well be forgiving for thinking that it was still winter and not spring! As April is now drawing to an end I thought that I would once again write about the things that I had loved from the month gone by like I did last month, a way to help me get back into thinking positive again after suffering badly with pnd last year.

So here is a few of the things that I have loved in April.

An Afternoon In Scarborough

Two week's ago we were lucky enough to be invited to stay at the beautiful Ox Pasture Hall Hotel, which is located near Scarborough. Of course being so close to this delightful seaside town we just had to pay it a visit and we ended up spending a lovely afternoon exploring and feeling all nostalgic, as it brought back many happy childhood memories.

Scarborough is somewhere that I use to visit as a child, I remember my mum taking me and my brother and visiting the fair and riding on the donkeys. It is also somewhere that I have taken my eldest daughter when she was younger, she loved it and is eager to return. However, on this occasion it was just myself and the other half, although after seeing what the town has to offer we are keen to visit again in the summer with all three children as there is so much for little ones to do.

Hippity, Hoppity Little Bunny Book Review

Regular readers will know that we are part of the Parragon book buddies scheme, which means that my little two are sent a book to review each month. We were sent a book over Easter which was a rather cute finger puppet board book called Hippity, Hoppity Little Bunny. I am actually late writing this review as we were so busy over Easter and we went away for a few days, so I am busy trying to catch up on reviews. Even though Easter has passed I still think that this is a lovely book that can be enjoyed all year round, so read on to see what we thought.

A Disney Princess Toddler Tea Party

Tomorrow the 21st of April is National Tea day and it is also the Queen's birthday too! So what better way to celebrate both occasions than with a Royal tea party? Of course, to have a royal tea party you need a tea set and some very special guests and luckily we were sent both, so that my very own Princess Sophia the first could celebrate.

Jakks Toys very kindly sent my little princess a Sofia the first tea set and four extra special guests in the shape of four beautiful Disney Princess Toddler Dolls! Perfect for my own toddler princess to play with and just right for a royal garden tea party.

Win A £30 Voucher To Spend At Party Bags & Supplies

Next month my little girl will be turning 3 and I really need to start planning her birthday. I am really looking forward to her birthday this year as this will be the first time that she actually understand that it is her birthday and she is already getting excited and telling us what she would like. Princesses are top of her list this year as she is is a big fan of Beauty and the Beast.

Last year we celebrated her birthday with a soft play party for her friends and then a little tea party at home with family. We were kindly sent a party pack with everything we needed for a Doc Mcstuffin tea party and pre-filled party bags for her little friends at her soft play party from Party Bags & Supplies.

My First Rolling Melodies Thomas #TeamThomas - Review

My two toddlers are train crazy at the moment and they adore Thomas the tank engine. My little boy Jacob is a bit Thomas crazy, he has Thomas toys and slippers and is always saying 'Choo Choo' when he See's anything Thomas related. So when I received an email asking if I wanted to be a part of #TeamThomas I just knew we had to step on board.

The team Thomas campaign is about celebrating Thomas & Friend core values of friendship, determination and teamwork and the new racing theme for 2016. In the lead up to the new Thomas film launching in May fans are being invited to power Thomas to the Great Race, which is the name of the new film.

Blog On Mosi 2016 Ice Breaker

In just under two weeks time I will be off to Manchester with fellow North East bloggers Sam from North East Family Fun and Karen from Monkey feet to attend my first Blog On Mosi event. I attended Britmums last year and I remember spending most of my time staring at peoples name tags, as I struggled to put names to blogs. So I think this icebreaker linky is a great idea so that not only will I know who is going but also so the other attendees know who I am too.

If you do see me at the event please do come and say hello as I am rather shy but I am very friendly (I hope).

Join The Message In A Bottle Launch Team

Regular readers will know by now that I adore reading, it is something that I really hope to pass on to my own children. I love how stories can capture little ones imagination and as a parent I love nothing better than tucking my little ones up in bed at night or snuggling up on the sofa with them and reading their favourite story. These are the moments that I fondly remember from my own childhood and that I want to treasure forever with my own children.

Imagine if you could create an extra special book for your child, a book where you create a special message that becomes central to the story, sounds pretty impressive doesn't it ? Well Message in a bottle books will do just that, you create a personal message and message in a bottle put it in a bottle (like you would throw in the sea) and they throw the bottle into the book to create an extra special story. Each story also includes personal information such as the child's name, town and country making them extra personal and educational.

A Day Trip To York With Virgin Trains East Coast

Last week during the Easter half term holidays we travelled to York for the day thanks to Virgin Trains East Coast, who wanted to show us how easy it is for a family to travel by train during half term. We were travelling from Newcastle Central station and popular routes from Newcastle include places such as London, Edinburgh, York, Leeds and Aberdeen, among many other routes.

As it was our two toddlers (Jacob aged 1 and Sophia aged 2) first time on a train we decided that we did not want to travel far and opted to visit York for the day, which is only around an hours train journey from Newcastle. I adore York, it is a city that I have visited many times as a child myself and also as an adult, but is somewhere I have never taken my own three children before.

Kiddyum Toddler Meals Review

Recently I was contacted by Kiddyum to see if I would like to try out there frozen ready meals, I had never heard of them before but they sounded perfect for toddlers. Kiddyum meals are frozen ready meals specially designed for children aged 1-4 years old by mum of two Jayne Hynes, who has created all these meals herself and taste tested them on her own two children. They are all made from natural ingredients here in the UK with lots of hidden veg and no added salt, sugar or hidden nasties, making them perfect for little tummies.

Kiddyum meals come in five different varieties of Cheesy Peasy Pasta, Macaroni Bolognaise, Cottage Pie, Fish & Veg Pie and Chicken Curry with Rice. The packaging is colourful and fun and appealing to children and they are just the right portion size for a pre-school aged child. They are available from selected Sainsbury's stores nationwide from the freezer section priced at a very reasonable £1.90 each.

These meals are perfect for keeping in your freezer for those days when you just don't have the time to cook and need something quick and easy to make for your little ones to eat. They are so quick and easy to cook taking just 5 minutes in the microwave or 30 minutes in the oven. I admit that I was a little unsure if my children would eat these meals at first as they have never actually had a ready meal before, as I always make them something from scratch but they love eating pasta dishes and vegetables which are available in these meals.

HP Instant Ink - Saving You From Running Out Of Ink

Collaborative post

As a mum of three, I always have a never-ending list of jobs that need doing, housework, shopping, making appointments and generally making sure everyone is looked after and things are in order. Sometimes often  I forget things, as let's face it us mums are busy and just keeping everyone clean and fed is an accomplishment some days.

One job that always seems to get added to my never ending to do list is to buy ink for the printer, nine times out of ten you can guarantee that I forget. Being a mum to a teen who is always needing to use the printer for her homework, having a printer with no ink is a bit of a nightmare for her. I have found myself in the past rushing out to the 24-hour supermarket to try and find ink so she could print out her homework. Thankfully they had some but I ended up paying more than I normally would and vowed that I would keep stocked up in future, which of course never happens.

I love Beth's blog it is one of my all time favourites and I have been reading it more or less since I started blogging two years ago, I have laughed at her posts about Peppa Pig and double buggy's, cried at her posts about losing her beloved mum and related to her posts about life with toddlers. I have met Beth in real life and she is just as lovely and funny in real life as she appears on her blog.

Thing's I loved In March

Last month I decided to start writing a little post each month about little things that I had loved from the month gone by. One of my new year's resolutions (hands up who has broken theirs already? I have) was to be kinder to myself and make sure that I had some much needed me time now and then. Last year I suffered really badly from postnatal depression after my sons birth and the whole year just passed by in a blur. I want to start thinking positive again, as by doing so I have been feeling so much happier and sociable and like me and that is why I write these posts each month, a way to remind myself that good things happen and to remember them.

Baby CPR With St John Ambulance

As a parent, one of my worst fears in life is that something bad will happen to one of my children. I try my best to keep them safe, at all times. Sometimes no matter what we do to try and prevent the accidents and illnesses do occur in babies and young children. Often cuddles and calpol or a kiss and bandage will make everything ok when little ones have accidents or become unwell.

What if they became really unwell though and stopped breathing, would you know what to do then? Being in that situation does not bear thinking about, does it? As parent's I think we need to think about it though, I think we should all know basic first aid, as we honestly never know when we will need it.

March 2016

I can't believe that it is the 1st of April already, does anyone else feel like Christmas was not so long ago? As always I am writing a little reflecting on the month gone by, a way for myself and my family to look back on what we have been up to. March was a fairly quiet month. Every month when I sit down to write these posts I always think to myself that I have not done anything that month, by the end of the post I normally realise that actually, we have done stuff.

So let's have a look at what March was like for me and my family.
