Little Dish Go Gos Range

As a mum to two toddlers, aged one and two years old I know just how important it is to have snacks at hand for day's out and to avoid those mid-afternoon meltdowns, whilst they wait for their tea to be cooked. My little two love snack time and I am always on the lookout for healthy things to give them, ideally things that won't cause a mess when we are out and about (who knew toddlers could make so much mess with a banana ?) and that can be stored in the changing bag for trips out and about.

Win Vital Baby Twist 'n' Lock Freezer Pods

Over the last year I have been working with Vital Baby as one of their Weaning Warriors. I documented my son's weaning journey from how we started, to his favourite weaning recipe and also are must have weaning products and tips. We loved working with Vital baby as we got to try out their fantastic weaning range and found them to be so practical and perfect for using from those first tastes through to toddlerhood.

Vital baby have recently launched a new product to their weaning range, Twist 'n' Lock Freezer Pods. These clever little pods are ideal for using to store batches of foods you have prepared for your little one to store in the freezer. As any parent will tell you when you store baby foods in pots in the freezer you sometime have to rummage around for a while to find the pots you are looking for, that is why Vital baby have created these pods. The set includes six individual 60ml pots which you simply twist and lock into place in the tray provided, this keeps them all neat and tidy and together and stops them falling out and getting lost in the freezer.

Win A Baker Days LetterBox Cake

Today is day four of my week of giveaways to celebrate my blog birthday. You can't have a birthday celebration without cake, can you ? Nope. So Baker Days very kindly sent me a cake to celebrate, they have also offered one of my lucky readers the chance to win their own cake too!

I actually reviewed a Baker Days cake back when I first started blogging. I was really impressed with the cake back then and thought that the whole concept of a cake being delivered by post was a genius idea. I remembered how yummy the cake was and was keen to see if they were as nice as I remember them being.

Afternoon Tea With The Easter Bunny

Yesterday we went for afternoon tea with the Easter bunny and are local Wyevale garden centre in Gosforth. The garden centre is located just outside of Newcastle, right next to Newcastle racecourse (it use to be called Peter Barret's garden centre) and is only a five-minute drive from where we live.

Tea with the Easter bunny was due to start at 4pm and we arrived at around ten too and made our way to the cafe, where the event was due to take place. Despite living so close to the garden centre I have not visited for years and was actually quite impressed, as not only was it well stocked with everything you would expect from a garden centre but it also had a great selection of toys and clothes and even a soft play area too.

Two Years Of Blogging

Today my blog turns two whole years old! It is crazy to think that I have been blogging for two years, I still feel like such a novice, with so much to still learn. Seriously Google is my best friend at times as I am forever googling how to do blog things or what they mean.

I started this blog to record my pregnancy with baby number three, who is now an 18 month old little boy! He is like my blog baby, his whole life is on this blog, more or less. My blog has changed so much in the last two years, it looks much better for a start as it was quite horrific in the beginning. This blog is now not only my hobby to keep me occupied whilst I was on maternity leave but it is now also my job, which is amazing.

Forever Memory Bear Baby Clothes Bear

Updated 2017 - Forever Memory Bears no longer seem to be in business.

One of the things I loved in pregnancy was buying tiny cute outfits, it was exciting thinking my unborn child would soon be wearing them. The baby days pass by so quickly and soon those tiny newborn clothes don't fit anymore and even though they no longer fit, us parents find it so hard to part with some of the treasured clothes our little ones once wore. We often pack them away where they get forgotten about.

So when I was recently contacted by Forever Memory Bears and asked if I would like to get some of my son's old baby clothes turned into a bear I readily agreed. Picking the clothes was so hard as I have kept so many of his old baby clothes and you only need 7 items of newborn clothing to make a bear. In the end, I picked all the newborn clothes (mainly babygrows) that I remember him wearing often as a baby, including the panda babygrow he wore when he was first born.

Other Bloggers Family Lives Featuring What The Redhead Said

Welcome to week four of my new guest series Other Bloggers Family Lives, this week I have one of my all-time favourite bloggers Donna from What The Redhead Said. I have been reading Donna's blog ever since I started blogging almost two years ago, back when her blog had a different name. What The Redhead said is full of her family adventures, reviews, recipes, giveaways and general musings.

I have to say that Donna is one of the most helpful, hardworking and nicest bloggers that I have come across who posts multiple times per day on her own blog, is always helping other bloggers out on social media and just generally being very social. She also works part-time, looks after her two adorable young children and still finds the time to have lots of adventures with her husband and children. I honestly don't know how she fits it all in!

The Forgetting Time By Sharon Guskin - Book Review

I have always adored reading and loved nothing more than getting lost in a good book, since having young children my love of reading has taken a major back seat - as I very rarely get the time to read these days. I have been wanting to get back into the habit of reading again, so when I was offered the chance to review 'The Forgetting Time' a debut novel by Sharon Guskin I readily accepted in the hope it would reignite my passion for reading once more.

The Forgetting Time

The Forgetting Time tells the story of Janie a single mother, and 4-year-old Noah, who keeps crying for his mama and asking to go home. Except Janie is his mother and he is already home.... As Noah's vivid nightmares become more and more distressed, Janie seeks advice from countless doctors who aren't able to help. Eventually, she meets Dr Anderson, a psychiatrist who researches cases of children recalling past lives. He believes he can help Noah - but does this mean that Janie will lose her son forever?

A Taste Of Sunrise Butternut Squash And Chestnut Soup

This weekend Sunrise care homes have launched their annual Taste Of Sunrise event, an event that they host to showcase the delicious meals that they serve in their homes daily. If you visit a Sunrise care home from today until the 13th March 2016 for a tour you will be able to meet the chefs, sample the meals and also take home a copy of the new Taste of sunrise recipe book. We do not have a Sunrise close to us so I was sent a copy of the book in the post.

Elderly care homes often get a bit of a bad reputation with people saying the food is bland and boring, Sunrise want to let people know that this is not the case at all. They endeavour to provide excellent care to their residents and provide delicious and nutritious meals to keep residents interested in food.

February 2016

At the start of each month, I always like to sit down and write a little post looking back on the month gone by. These posts are my way of reflecting on the previous month as I always think I have never done anything when in fact sometimes I have. I say this every single month but it honestly does not seem like that long ago since I wrote last months update! February is normally a very quiet month for myself and my family with not a lot happening and lots of days staying at home in the warmth.

So let's have a look at what February was like for me and my family.

First Haircut At Pikku Gosforth

My little boy Jacob had such fine hair when he was born and had hardly any hair until fairly recently, it suddenly just grew and was getting really long around his ears and we knew it was time to take him for his haircut. Last year we visited Pikku, located on Gosforth high street for the first time to get Sophia's haircut We were so impressed that we have never gone anywhere else since and she regular enjoys visiting to get her crazy curls cut.

So when the lovely people at Pikku heard that Jacob was in need of a trim they booked him in for a special Baby's first haircut session. Even though I know first hand how lovely the staff and salon are I was really nervous about taking him, he has just turned 18 months and he is at the age where he won't sit still.  He also really does not like his neck or ears being touched.

Pampers #SagGoneGrooveOn

When I had my eldest child thirteen years ago I always used Pampers nappies, as I found them to be the best around. So when I had my second daughter almost three years ago I once again turned to Pampers and continued using them when baby number three came along. People were always telling us to try cheaper supermarket brands, as we had two little ones in nappies for a year which was rather expensive. We have tried the odd brand of cheaper supermarket nappies out over the years but I always went straight back to Pampers, as I find them to be the best around as cheaper nappies went really saggy.
