My Given Name Personalised Children's Book - Review & Giveaway

Regular readers will know that I adore reading and that I really hope to pass on my love of books to my own children. I also love anything that is personalised as I think personalised items are that little bit more special and thoughtful and are something that can be treasured forever. So when I heard about My Given Name Books and was given the chance to review a one I was really excited for it to arrive.

My Given Name is a personalised book with a difference that is full of positive messages to help introduce positive thinking into little one's lives. Not only does it mention your child's name like most personalised books do but you can also create a character who resembles your child too, making it that bit more special. I decided that I would create the book for my almost three-year-old Sophia as she adores books just like her mummy. So I created a little girl with brown hair and blue eyes and typed in her name, that was all I had to do to create this magical story as the clever team at My Given Name do the rest of the work.

My Given Name is different from most other storybooks as each book is individual to each child. The story starts with a stork called Bindee, whose job is to deliver a baby home to its family - the baby being the child who the book is for. On Bindees way to collect the baby, he encounters lots of animals, each animal that the stork encounters will have a letter made up from the child's name and they will also pass on a positive message, which will help reveal the child's given name and the special meaning behind it.

My daughter is called Sophia so the animals that we came across in the story were a Seal, Owl, Porcupine, Hippopotamus, Indian Tiger and an Aardvark.

Every single page of this book is beautifully illustrated and the story and positive messages throughout make this such a wonderful read. It is hard backed and will look lovely on a bookshelf and would make the most gorgeous new baby, christening or birthday gift as it is so unique and will be treasured forever.

I really do love this book so much so that I am planning on buying my son a one for his birthday in a few months. I really like that his story will be completely different from his sisters, as obviously his name is different so he will meet different animals and receive different messages than in this book.

You can order your own hard-backed version of this book from the My Given Name website www.mygivenname.com priced at £23.90 (£19.95 for soft bound) and is normally delivered in under a week with free UK delivery. I honestly think it is worth every penny for such a wonderful keepsake.

I just love this video by My Given Name too as it really shows how special the book is and is well worth a watch.
